These LED G25 globe bulbs are better than G25 incandescents because they use WAY less energy. But they are also much better than G25 globe CFLs because:
1. They come to full brightness immediately.
2. They (supposedly, anyway) last much longer. My CFLs only lasted about a year.
3. They use even less energy than CFLs of the same "equivalence" or brightness - here, 500 lumens stated to be equivalent to a 60W incandescent.
The 2700 Kelvin color is a warm value, not the colder or bluer light from older LEDs.
I originally replaced my incandescent bulbs with CFLs, which reduced power usage but had three drawbacks: slow to get to full on; contain mercury so difficult to get rid of; and susceptible to early failure if turned on and off frequently. A number of the CFLs had already failed, so they were not very cost-effective. The new LEDs light up instantly, and I like the color temperature of the bulbs. Since these are in a guest bathroom, having instant-on lighting is a huge improvement. We no longer have to leave the bathroom lights on the entire evening when guests visit.
Very very bright bulbs. Bought as a substitute replacement for my existing bath fixture bulbs. Fortunately we have a summer switch in our bathroom. They have been performing well and the price was great.
If you're wanting a long lasting, attractive globe light, this is for you. They are bright, dim well with a dimmer switch, and last forever. Best light purchase I've made.
