This camera has performed well for me. I use it for both video and stills. The video is spectacular! Stills, not bad, but not the best(high iso performance could be better), however I recently bought a 20mm Lumix pancake lens for low light situations and the combo is fantastic! The small size and low weight is also a big plus for me.
This camera is a game-changer, WITH the Driftwood hack. It simply blows the competition out of the water. I had RED ONE for 6 months then sold it for a 5D Mk2. Initially I loved the quality of RED but hated size, weight, boot time etc.... I loved the 5D but yearned for RED quality. With the GH2 I experienced deja-vu. I had the same feeling as when I first looked at my RED footage all those years ago. Sure its not identical BUT it doesnt have any of the nagging feelings of image resolution inferiority I always felt with the 5D. And it does something NO other camera does- it reignites the sheer euphoria of shooting. Its Scarlet in a tiny plastic case. The grain structure is organic, not ugly artefacting like 5d. No alisiasing, no Moire. The list goes on. THIS IS INSANE. And the GH3 is around the corner.... gives me the sameRead full review
Perfect camera if what you are intending to get is a video camera, this has a great filmic look to it, even with the stock 14-140mm lens. I opted for the 140-140mm lens as they have an excellent resale value.
