Still trying to get this WIFI Tablet to actually see the WIFI. Without that you cannot get anything to work at all. Standing right in front of the router and still nothing. I have 35 dollar tablets that connect but not this. A big waste of money. Will never buy another product of Blackberry again. Instructions are confusing. Save your money!

A surprisingly excellent tablet. With just a touch less resolution than an iPad2 or Touchpad (1024x600 instead of 768) even with its smaller size the images and video are crisp and vibrant. The fast processor and QNX based operating system make it snappy and the Playbook 2.0 OS is as easy to use as WebOS including using many of the same gestures to multitask applications. Works great when paired with a Blackberry phone with the Blackberry Bridge software where you can read and respond to messages using the Playbook instead of phone and letting the Playbook use the phones cell plan instead of needing one of its own when you are out of wifi range. A graet product that is easy to underestimate due to its smaller size than the Apple tablet. Where it falls a little is software support, but with the new Playbook you can load many Android applications. In fact I loaded the Android Kindle app, though it isn't easy enough for casual users to accomplish so it cant really be considered a proper replacement for getting the apps ported to the Playbook OS. Hopefully when the new BBX phones come out using an Operating System similar to the Playbook, we will see more support for this excellent tablet. I basically use this and my Touchpad more than my iPad2. They simply have better thought out operating systems making them a lot more pleasant to use.Read full review
The BlackBerry PlayBook is the latest – and most unique – Apple iPad 2 challenger. Running a new OS called QNX, with quirky features like bridging to a BlackBerry phone for secure email and an oddly confusing initial setup, the PlayBook is a stark departure from the more iPad-like Motorola Xoom. Business-minded features such as built-in viewers for spreadsheets and word processing files are welcome, and it gets extra credit for being fast and nimble on a dual-core 1GHz processor. Throw in a 3MP front-facing camera, a 5MP rear-facing one, a bright and crisp 1200x600 resolution screen, a light 425g body and all the typical gyro, accelerometer and GPS sensors and you have the makings for a powerful 7-inch tablet. The PlayBook is sorely lacking third-party apps, but does show promise. The powerful multi-tasking, where you can run a video in one window and play a game in another with both apps running concurrently, is a first of its kind for a mainstream tab. File storage capabilities, support for an HDMI connection for playing 1080p video and a slick interface make the PlayBook an interesting anomaly. The price is very affordable and if you're so game for gadgets this is a very good one.Read full review
I bought this tablet mostly for reading books I have in PDF format, watching movies and surfing the web. For the most part I can do 2 out of the 3 things I wanted this tables for because the ebook reader app in my opinion is not that great. I can still read on it its just not as pleasant as it could be, I hope that once we get the BB OS 2.0 update that will change because at the moment there is a huge lack of good apps. The Hardware on this tables is great, it makes multitasking a breeze, I like the fact that it is smaller than an Ipad so I can carry it everywhere, the display is bright and crisp, the playbook is sturdy yet not too heavy.
What can one say about the Blackberry Playbook? First of all, I was lucky enough to purchase the Playbook for only $159.99, if I remember right. That is a HUGE discount off retail. And I am grateful for the ebay seller that made the discounted price possible. What a joy to have! So easy to use , & just the right size to take it camping, on vacation! The iPad is too big for me. This Blackberry Playbook delivers a very clear picture, even when watching YouTube or a favorite show online! So far, no complaints. So this is what Blackberry quality is about. I have the iPhone, never had a Blackberry of any kind. Now, I will have to say I love the Blackberry Playbook for a mid size tablet. Buy it, you will never regret it!
handy and good looking device. sturdy durable design. easy to use wifi. but to fully enjoy the features, one has spend a good amount of time to fully familiarize oneself with the features and one needs to have a good knowledge base. one also has to deal with all the proprietary features that demand a dedicated service plan.
this is a very good tablet pc for it's price.it is very useful and very good quality.very easy to use, if you use a blackberry smartphone it will be easier.i am very happy with this.i can do whatever i want on the internet.the only negative point is that has no many applications like ipad.but i can really recommend it if you use for internet sites, facebook, twitter or etc.
The PlayBook has surprised me. I didn't know it was as good as it is. I was more into android but then as i used one of this i realized that the PlayBook has more potential than a lot of tablets on the market. The QNX based operating system is a well designed and is very easy to use. There is room for improvement of course, but it has shown to be a really nice and smooth operating system. The PlayBook feels good on hand. I wanted a 10 inch tablet but i realized that whatever people say about 7 inch tablets is true, they are the perfect size. The battery life is good. I have had this for only a week but it has shown that it has a lot of juice. I got nine hours of battery in which i opened various apps, browsed the internet, played games, and had HD video playing back for four hours. The only problem i found right now is the absence of apps such as Skype, Tango, and sms apps.Read full review
This is one great tablet. You can feel the quality when you handle it. Lightning fast and easy to use, once you've adjusted to the Blackberry OS. The operating system is very intuitive, and adds to the experience. Having some issues with email syncing for my primary account, but g-mail syncs with no problem. The Blackberry Desktop program makes coordination of info from your PC to the Playbook a breeze. I also had a Android tablet, but the Playbook is greatly superior all the around. The real downside is lack of apps, since the Blackberry Playbook operates on the proprietary RIM operating system. All considered, this tablet is the best for me.
