The Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 is an ultrawide angle lens compatible with Sony digital cameras. This Rokinon lens for Sony is designed for full-frame cameras and it is also compatible with APS-C cameras. The lens construction of this UMC aspherical IF ED lens is constituted by 14 elements in 12 groups and includes two extra-low dispersion lens elements. All of the elements in the Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 work together to minimize distortion and chromatic aberrations. This enables the Rokinon lens for Sony to produce photos of high clarity. This aspherical IF ED lens features a wide angle of view, ranging from 115.7 degrees for full-frame cameras to 93.9 degrees for APS-C cameras. The Rokinon 14 mm f/2.8 has a minimum focusing distance of 11 inches and an aperture ranging from f/2.8 to f/22. Good quality lens at a remarkable price
This lens is a very good utilitarian piece of gear at a fantastic price. There are better lenses out there that are sharper, or with better flare resistance, but this one gets the job done for nearly 1/8 of the price. For me, someone who only uses this wide of a lens occasionally, it's nice to be able to get a tool this inexpensively to try out this focal length and see if it's something I want to invest in more. This wide of an angle lens is a bit of a beast and can be difficult to shoot effectively if you aren't used to it.
