Quite robust for its size and price. Holds zero. Mounted on a SKS (7.62x39). Blue dot quite sharp at distances beyond 20 yds but a bit blobby at close up, still, not really a problem mounted on a rifle. Two issues one would need to live with: 1) to change the battery one needs to dismount the optic requiring resighting, and 2) only has blue dot ON/OFF switch, ie: no variable brightness. Still, the price is good.

The dot was really big and blurry when I first tired it. At 25 yards the dot took up my entire target. So I took it apart and discovered the chip was canted and after some adjusting I got the dot focus and my sight picture was way better. The dot went from pea-sized to about the size of a pen tip. If you don't mind fine tuning this from the factory it's a steal for the money. I do feel the quality control could have fixed this issue before sending it out for a customer to buy. I'd give it a 8/10 had it not for me having to fix the issues I did.

I had thought that the blue dot would be as easy, or even easier to see, than the red and green dots on my other rifles. I was mistaken as it is not as easily seen, especially in bright sunlight conditions. This may be due to my personal eyesight, so at this time, until I get other hunters to check this out, I will not blame the sight. It is possible that my eye is just not compatible with the blue dot. This is the only point I can post about because everything else works like my more expensive sights, and I really like the smaller size of this one on top of my illuminated 3-9x40.

Only buy it f you have to have a blue led. I got mine and it had poor glass which caused a big fuzzy dot as it moved up the glass to the top. NcSTAR will replace it for free in the 1st 90 days but plan on spending $5 dollars to ship it to them for warranty. (After that they want $10 for return s&h) Also ask them to check the replacement before they send it to you. I plan on adding some extra glue to hold the glass tight. If you buy one good luck....

Lens had fallen out of the frame during shipping by the time I received it. Poor build quality all over - I wouldn't use it even on a paintball or 22 plinking gun (even if was still intact). I've seen many other NcStar items that were really nice, but this looked so bad, it may be a fake with their logo on it.
