This phone looks great and works well for your simple texts and calls. However, if you try to use any of their internet browsers or email services with this model today, they will no longer work. Although, it’s WiFi and hotspot ability seems to work.

This was supposedly "MINT" condition. The back was completely scuffed up. The keyboard keys paint was worn off, the battery filthy dirty and even the sticker on the battery was torn. The second one doesn't even turn on so thats going back and the first one was never properly wiped which I am attempting to do now. OH And the charger he or she gives you is not the one pictured either. These are the furthest from "mint" as you can possibly be! DO NOT BUY

i personally love blackberrys, and this is the best blackberry you can buy right now, although there arent many apps, the few apps available work great. the only things i dont like: battery life isnt the best, but better than my old htc evo, camera is weak, but can still take alright pictures (nothing compared to my HTC EVO's 8 mega pixels) and when the battery gets to about 5 %, the antenna turns off. however, my old htc was roaming in my living room, the berry gets a least 2 bars, much better. but the look of the phone the awesome feel of the phone, and touch screen and GREAT keyboard combo make you stand out in a world full of iphone and android users. ive already influenced one on my best friends to join team blackberry
The bottom line is, if you're a BlackBerry lover, and have been packing something like the BlackBerry Bold 9780 for this long already, you can probably hold out for another 6-8 months for the first QNX BlackBerry, which will be running an operating system much more likely to be supported in the long haul. There is a bit of a gamble there, though; if the PlayBook has shown us anything, it's that the platform has a lot of function gaps to fill, and if they aren't ready in time for the QNX smartphone launch, then the Bold 9900/9930 may be more functional for the immediate future. While I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the BlackBerry 9900/9930 to get an upgrade to the new OS, the rumour that RIM's first QNX handset is using a single core processor and thus not dependent on a dual-core processor offers some hope for backwards compatibility. Between the loss of features like autofocus on the camera, the failure to include functions as advertised like NFC, the conspicuous absence of expected features like mobile hotspot, missing consumer electronics industry standards like DLNA home media sharing, and falling behind in old standards like battery life, I'm finding it hard to recommend the new BlackBerry Bold. The fact that the 9900/9930 is smooth and responsive isn't a feature, no matter what trademarked name RIM gives their rendering engine; it's what BlackBerry should have been all along. Augmented reality and voice-activated universal search are both nice touches, but as far as I can tell, these are the only real new tricks the Bold 9900/9930 brings to the table. I've yet to really dive in to the the Torch 9810 or 9850, but I fear they're going to be more of the same. The feel of the device is great though, and that can't be denied. The screen is sharper than ever, and extremely responsive. For BlackBerry diehards that want a big honkin' keyboard in a slim package, the Bold 9900 will fit the bill so long as they're willing to pay a premium up-front for the device cost at launch. With a bit of patience, I'm sure that $250 pricetag will get knocked down a hundred bucks. For anyone looking for something game-changing (or at least competitive) from RIM, you'll have to wait until the first QNX phones hit the market.Read full review
I bought this "No Contract, barely used" Bold on eBay about a month ago. It is very fast to surf the net and a breeze to open emails_large files no hasstle either. The keyboard is so smooth that I hardly remember the phone also has touchscreen feature. So far I observed that there seem to be some issue with it recognising the SD card in that when photos are taken it seem to register only the current ones in the media card but does not show the previous photos that are actually on the card. Apart from that the phone has been working exceptionally well. I have no regrets and would recommend it to someone; in fact the phone was actually used to write and send this review. I will buy another one at that price it is definitely worth it.
It’s a great phone, but has poor battery life. And the Verizon Unlocked phones bring Blackberry Internet Service configuration challenges. If you are in a country where there is No Verizon please get the Manufacture Unlocked phones. The Music and internet speeds on 3G network is super. The touch and full QWERTY makes the operation easier!
I've never had another phone other than the iPhone since it's inception and I can easily say that this phone matches up nicely! After apple played another "4g to 4s" stunt rather than bringing out the iPhone 5, I figured its pointless me buying the 4s although I know I wanted a new phone...I decided to go with the BOLD so I can get BBM, and experience what all the hype was about...I definitely won with this device, Its fast, takes VERY nice pictures when there is lots of light...Its smooth and I love the touch screen! The buttons are MUCH softer to type on than any other BB with buttons and it's the ROOMIEST keyboard RIM has ever developed on a smart phone...The phone is also VERY sexy, it's LED keyboard lighting and straight colors attracts me to the phone even more...This is also the first time ever RIM put a actual stainless steel band around a device, before it has always been hard shiny plastic...Read full review
I have had the Blackberry Bold 9930 since its premier. I am a fan of the trackball but the trackpad is something I have adapted to liking. This is by far the best Blackberry RIM has devised. A couple things I would suggest are better camera although 5.0MP is fantastic as well as possible 4G on a BB device; I dont know what they are waiting for. Its great to have a global-ready phone although I never leave the US but who knows. I have only had one issue and that is with the first Bold I had. I experienced a call issue where I place a call and I can not hear a ring and the one I am calling can not be heard on either side. I am on my second Bold and it is just flawless so maybe an upgrade fixed the issue. I would like to see possibly a bigger screen but if I wanted that I could of just went to HTC. The bright LCD is so vibrant and clear it is beyond perfect. The touch is new to me for BB considering I never liked the Storm but I havent had too many complaints with it yet. Overall, I would recommend this device to a business user or someone who heavily emails as it is a very convenient all-in-one device in the palm of your hands. Get one or two or ten!!!! Be more than audacious! Be BOLD!Read full review
two words : PHYSICAL KEYBOARD --- having real keys makes typing on your mobile device an easy and enjoyable experience rather than a struggle with the touchscreen and needing to re-type every other word. this is a no-nonesense phone with alot of subtle refinements all over. blackberry did good with this hardware and it has a very nice heavy feel with the stainless steel band around the edges.. like a fine watch. if you want to be playing games and surfing the web, get an android tablet. keep the bb for accessing security sensitive web content without concern that the phone is prone to malware or ads. Got this one over the Q10 because it has real keys for the phone functions and the mini TRACKPAD/button..(several reviewers mentioned this)-- its even too sensitive and sometimes re-dials the last number with a slightly misplaced touch when picking up the phone. Network tethering is built in and works great, the camera is easy to use and nice quality, it plays just about any kind of media format and has built in ability to encrypt the entire phone or just the micro-SD card. Overall, the only thing that could really make this phone better is if it were waterproof.Read full review
