Solid for digital and analog sources alike.
If you don't need 4k video through your pre/pro this is an awesome unit. I needed to be able to run my analog sources directly to the volume which you can do with this Rotel...skip dsp, which many receivers and even pre pros won't do. I don't really want to digitize my audiophile turntable's sound and I don't have room for a separate 2 channel system. So Rotel into some monoblock amps, with Rotel set to "bypass" on the analog input I use for the turntable does the trick. On top of that digital sources sound great too...I'm running a server to play hi-res music and let rotels processors do the d to a conversion...sounds pretty darn musical (almost analog anyway). If you can pick this up for $500ish I think it's a heck of a bargain.
