About this product

Product Information

Weighing 0.09 oz (2.5 g) and measuring 0.75 inches (19 mm) across, this U.S. penny was struck at the Philadelphia Mint and bears designs by Victor David Brenner and Frank Gasparro. As a 1984 one-cent piece, this U.S. penny is actually a zinc-copper coin containing a zinc core that is surrounded by copper plating. This U.S. penny features an obverse design by Brenner that details a bust of Abraham Lincoln and is the longest-running design in the history of the U.S. Mint. The reverse design on this 1984 one-cent piece bears a design that is almost as familiar: an etching of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The designs on this zinc-copper coin were commissioned in 1909 and 1959 to commemorate the 100-year and 150-year anniversaries of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, respectively. The edge of this U.S. penny is plain and features no reeding.
