This ia an old item made in 1966 so this must be remebered, it comes from a time when things were made to last, strong and heavy comes to mind. Very tactile, lovely to hold and use. has every thing you would need and expect from a 1960's camera. build quality is superb. Fantastic range of lenses not just from canon and plenty of very fast glass. I love shooting with film and with this camera, the metering is spot on just remeber the basic rules of photography. I would recomend this camera to any one who wants to use a film camera again. They ares imply devine to use and own.
The FT ql is a nice little camera for the manual shooter and film enthusiast. Works without a battery (except meter) should you loose power across a day of shooting. Solid construction. Vast number of inexpensive and really good FL lenses available. The downsides of this camera include a lack of hot shoe, very early and somewhat clunky TTL metering, and the pentaprisms are often showing signs of silver separation. The fact that it’s a 50 year old camera and while they often have some wear issues can be a great tool and a good value. I also have a collection of Canon Pellix cameras which have essentially the same body with a fixed pellical mirror. Both very well built and while the Pellix is a bit more unique the FT retains the same great user controls.

This was my first camera back in the 70s. It was a workhorse that took many wonderful photos. I don't think I'll be running film through it, but every now and then I just like to pick it up and remember the feeling of how well it became an extension of my hands and eyes. This was my baby for many years and I will always have fond memories of using it.
Great film camera old school to teach my daughter film photography. Have used Canon 35mm film cameras and now digital since 1968 when I ditched my Brownie Hawkeye. Have tried other major brands in 35mm. None satisfy like Canon.
Looks great and had very good packaging for the camera!
