The Olympus 35Rc is Probably The Best Film Camera in the Digital Era, you must be a real pro to miss a shot. * The Olympus 35RC is a classic, ultra compact , manual focus film camera. Your pocket is its home. * It features a super silent low vibrating shutter enabling you to shoot in any place at any distance. * It sports both an Auto Exposure mode and Manual mode. It can work without battery, although the battery seems to last forever. And, both the shutter speeds and exposure numbers are seen in the viewfinder ! * You can aim the camera at any part of the image for getting a specific exposure combination, and re framing, re composing the image by a simple half depression of the shutter release. * By holding the shutter release button to half way position you can compensate the exposure, via the shutter speed dial * Compared to a Leica M7, the Olympus 35RC is held time and again by Ken Rockwell as easier to use, faster and giving practically the same results. * He holds it by far as more reliable and dependable than a Leica, and faster to load, to handle, to focus. * "The Olympus 35RC is a simple camera that just happens to do everything a serious photographer needs. It has nothing to get in the way, and has a superb lens and exposure system that ensures perfect, sharp shots every time with a minimum of weight and fuss." * The Zuiko 42/2.8 lens lens renders superior results. * The Olympus 35RC mechanism is a gem of complexity, durability, high quality materials. Even the electronic cables have stood the test of several decades and will continue to stand for decades to come: it is the sort of camera you got from your fathers and will deliver to your sons. * Find a good sample and you'll never look backRead full review
Just got back first roll of film and I was very pleased to say the least! I didn't expect such clear images and great color saturation from such a small camera. The light meter was spot on! So easy to pack around, you hardly know its hanging on your neck. A wonderful gym of a little camera! Highly recommended!

I love one of my Olympus 35 RC cameras and the other I could easily love too, if the light meter did work. The Olympus 35 RC around your neck is like carrying a plastic toy camera, but the photo quality says something a lot different. I've gone through about 6 rolls of film, every click of the shutter produced perfect images, except for a few occasions where I moved or the subject moved and blurred the shot. Not one photo over or under exposed using 200 and 400ISO films. I'd use my Olympus 35 RC a lot more if not for the cost of processing film. You will fall in love with the Olympus 35 RC. I have a lot of other cameras, but when I go out exploring old ghost towns I want to know the shot is there. I have come to know and trust my Olympus 35 RC beyond even beyond my best digital cameras. I would recommend the Olympus 35 RC camera to anyone, it's uncomplicated and forgiving. Built well but not like hanging a cement block around your neck! Get one if you can find a good one, you won't be sorry.Read full review
What can I say about this little gem? I adore this camera. It's tiny, quiet and takes great pictures. The first one I bought had a dead meter in it. Not a problem, really, I was a photo major in college for a while, I know what the little knobbies do. The pictures came back startlingly good. as a bonus, if you are careful about loading the film, you can easily get 39 shots on a 36 roll, which is kind of a drag when the negative sleeve pages only hold 35 frames, but with slides it's a good deal. Truly one of the best rangefinders ever made. this one is definitely a keeper!
Beautiful and Excellent Little camera My Olympus 35RC,The controls are very easy to use.The rangefinder is patch is contrasty, wind and rewind are very smooth. This camera takes and I mean it EXcellent Beautiful sharp photos and you can see the detail I compare this camera to the Leica 7 model without the extra expense. The Zuiko lens is also a great lens that delivers sharpness.I am VERY HAPPY with this Little olympus, and I get many compliments Because of its SIZE..Thank you I hightly recommend olympus 35RC If you find a good one. thank you steven
If you need a camera for a photo class, this is the one. It works in full manual as well as auto. The OM-PC is not hard to find and is usualy in good to excelent condition when you do. It uses any OM mount lens. It goes for less than its big brother the OM-4 but shares many features.
It's a fun little camera, about the length of my palm. The light meter can be a bit bad at time so you have to be careful to point it in the right place to make sure your pictures aren't too bright or too dark. The great thing about this is that it is cheap, easy to use, and looks great! I'd recommend it to a friend.
Pros: - full manual and automatic modes - small size - fantastic image quality - can fit more frames on a roll because you don't have to pull the film out as far when loading - quiet shutter - flash sync at any speed Cons: - when in automatic mode, the indicator slowly moves across the f-stops, meaning you don't know for sure if you have enough/too much light until the needle moves all the way across to the red and locks the shutter - ugly self-timer on the front - relatively small rangefinder focusing image

My first rangefinder (Can't afford Leica). Compact so easy to carry and have with me. The image quality is really quite good. Won't let you accidentally over or under expose too much.

This is a well-built, pocketable 35 millimeter single-lens metal rangefinder camera. It has a great lens and automatic metering, and will also work in manual mode. The only downside is the the two-blade shutter, which results in an unexceptional bokeh. Ken Rockwell thinks this camera renders Leica-like images.
