Let me say up front...I really like this unit. It looks beautiful in my car. It improved the sound over my stock unit. So, what's not to like? Just a couple of things. As with any touchscreen, it gets oily from your fingers. Just be prepared to carry something in the car to wipe it off periodically. Sun glare can make it impossible to view. If you want an adjustable screen you have to move up to the next model, but also lose bluetooth. It doesn't interface completely with my steering controls. I have yet to find a way to put photos into it from my iPod. It always overrides this option saying I can't do it while the car is in use. This is when I've got the car in park and after I've shut the engine off. Frustrating. Takes some getting used to using the radio presets. They scroll the station info rather than just showing the frequency. This makes it tough to remember what station is on what preset. It's worse because when you change stations whatever was showing on the previously used station freezes in place. OK. That's it. What's to like? Great sound. Great features. The bluetooth to my phone is simply amazing. All of my contacts, previous calls, etc. appear on screen. Only wish I could use voice commands with it! It interfaces with all of my iPods with ease pulling their tracks, playlists, etc. into the unit. Because of the forementioned problem with photos I can't view DVDs in the car in any capacity. Suspect there might be an install problem.Read full review
Bought this head unit for touchscreen interface, DivX SDHC card playback capability, handsfree bluetooth phone calling, pre-outs for sub/amps, and backup camera integration capability. Overall, I love this unit. TFT LCD screen is high quality as evident with video playback. Easy user interface. A little getting used to for the lack of a volume knob, instead with buttons. Allows 32 gb SDHC cards so I can put DivX movies on it and watch them. Bluetooth microphone handsfree calling works great. People on the other end can hear me crystal clear (better than my last JVC head unit). Have to buy an optional proprietary Pioneer USB/AUX iPhone cable in order for video from iPod, etc. to show on screen, but works properly. A plethora of audio/visual adjustments, source variant, dimmer option. Last but not least, great sound. Compares great to other units. Pioneer is a quality company when it comes to head units, happy I purchased it. Easy to install for DIYers, Great quality to cost ratio.Read full review
The Pioneer AVH-P3300BT is a great option for those looking to step up to a double din car stereo. Overall this unit is an outstanding deal for the price. The hands free built-in bluetooth is the stand out feature. There are a few drawbacks. The remote control will not navigate menu items so you can not control speaker levels, equilizer levels, browsing for music, etc. The remote control is dedicated to the dvd portion of this unit. The only thing you can control with the remote while listening to music is the volume and skipping tracks/finding radio stations. This makes changing subwoofer volume and crossover freq. very cumbersome on the fly. Having 3 RCA outputs in the rear when paired with an amplifier and upgraded speakers gives a crystal clear sound!
This unit is great. It was an 'step' upgrade from my Pioneer AVH-P3200BT. The Pandora integration works very well with my iPhone 4. Bluetooth phone calls are clear and easy to set up. To top it all off, this unit is a very good value considering it is a DVD player, has iPhone/iPod/USB stick/SD Card integration for listening to your music any way you want it, and has a bus that is capable of integrating HD Radio, Satellite, GPS Navigation, a rear backup camera, and even an auxiliary device like a playstation if so desired.
Love this head unit. Bluetooth is really clear with my Iphone 4S. Only thing is that I wish you could save multiple images to use as your custom backgrounds instead of just one. The Pandora app is awesome and the whole head unit is easy to use and function. Remote is a little big and bulky, but I prolly won't be using it. But other than that, I'm very pleased with it for the price I got it for. Thanks Pioneer and Ebay.
