About this product

Product Information

The Nikon DC-Nikkor is a high-quality auto and manual lens for the photography enthusiast. This telephoto lens features an f/2.0 aperture, making it suitable for shooting in low light conditions. The Nikon camera lens has a fixed/prime focus length of 135 mm. The Nikon DC-Nikkor is a portrait lens and features the exclusive Nikon Defocus Control technology so photographs can be as sharp or deliberately soft as desired. The automatic focus operates quietly and allows manual control. Advanced users of this telephoto lens can even manipulate the degree of spherical aberration for an artistic touch in both background and foreground elements. The Nikon camera lens takes advantage of rear focusing to facilitate speedy AF operation. The pleasant heft of this 29 oz lens speaks to the quality build of the Nikon DC-Nikkor and its serious purpose. The lens is compatible with Nikon cameras and uses a Nikon F mount.

  • I love Defocus Control 135 f/2D for the super creamy bokeh.

I love Defocus Control for the super creamy bokeh. Not everyone will. It takes presence of mind to control the shots. That is a benefit as it helps me keep my mind in focus too. (ha ha) The foreground sharpening is more subtle and harder to master. IMO well worth it and educational. Improves your DOF awareness. You can set the Defocus Control to zero and just use it as a sweet 135mm f/2D. Check the sharpness eval on DXO mark. ** make sure to get the f/2D and not the previous f/2 version which lacks matrix metering control.

  • Looks great on a Nikon Df

We all know this is a solid, old school lens. It matches in style, the old school look that the Nikon Df camera is trying to achieve. The latest lenses just don't look like belong on the front end of a Df. The Nikon 135mm DC lens is a perfect addition to this camera, or any Nikon FX camera.

  • Nikon 135 F2 D

I bought this lens after reading a review by Ken Rockwell. It is everything he said it was and more! This lens is fast and very sharp and the defocusing feature for improved bokeh helps produce breathtaking portraits. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite lenses! I could not tell the lens I bough from a brand new one. It is built like a tank.....a really great eBay deal.

  • A unique and high quality lens.

As good as reviewed. Super sharp, yet incredible soft backgrounds when used properly. It was used over the weekend on a large budget film style music video production. Shot in 4K on my Z6 with complementary Zeiss lenses. Quality was on par with lenses valued much higher than the Nikon. Can't wait to use it on a portrait / fashion shoot.

  • Beautiful Lens

Beautiful Bokeh, solid feel, smooth auto-focus. Only annoying thing is switching between manual and auto focus.

  • Great value at this time

No one is seeking this lens anymore, so the demand is low. If you find a nice copy (try Japanese sellers), the image quality is outstanding. Purple fringing is the only weakness, and that can be corrected with one click in Lightroom.

  • Awesome lens for bokeh.

The glowing reviews by Ken Rockwell got me to seek out this marvelous lens. Fast, sharp, confidence inspiring for great portraits with that sweet blurred background called "bokeh". It's not cheap but it's a precision tool.

  • The lens is not popular with US photographers because it’s mistaken forca soft focus lens. This is a mistake.

  • Super lens

Defocus control only has a subtle effect but it is a great lens, sharp and with good contrast. Flare control is however non existent and there is also plenty of CA.
