Momentary switch mod
I bought this latch relay for my momentary switch on my audi a4 b6, i installed the funk switch ( radio switch in english) to turn my aftermarket stereo on and off however i discovered that the funk switch is what you call a momentary switch meaning power is only there when the switch button is held in so the latch relay worked a treat as like a bolt latch on a gate when it gets a pulse of power it stays in that place until it gets another pulse to open it so on and off which worked perfect for the on off on the radio as the a4 has no accesory switch on the ignition barrel and i didnt want the stereo to only work with the ignition on. Not cheap but it really is worth it, you can attempt diy versions but this is a quality made product and from what ive found the most reasonable way to do this job. It fits neatly behind the dash. I used a fused positive 30 and tied into 30 to supply positive to 56 on S for switch (funk button) i used negative from the funk switch and earthed the other end of the funk switch to a good earth on the a4 body and on 56b thats the positive live out to the stereo works great, i didn't wire in the led on the funk switch as thought it would be distracting at night so left that off but wired in the back light illumination when you put the side or headlights on at night so you get that nice funk glow. Id say for around £60/£80 its a great mod practical and looks amazing funk means radio in German and was used in emergency vehicles for communications, siren lights etc as the button had multiple uses
