Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the biggest cartoons in the 1980s and early to mid 1990s. This single disc DVD contains the last 12 episodes of the third season of the cartoon. I bought this DVD, cause quite frankly I'm a BIG fan of TMNT. And really that's probably the ONLY reason to buy this DVD. Maybe you're wondering about the extra features. Answer: NONE. There is NO bonus features. But what the episodes. Well truthfully there are some pretty weak episodes in this set. One episode you'll find on this set is called "Mr. Ogg goes to Town," it features a character named Mr. Ogg, which is nothing more than a lame Pee Wee Hermen rip off and an annoying one at that. In the end these episodes show the turtles getting a little more "cartoonie" and "light hearted" that they became known for. I don't know how many people reading this review saw the made for TV movie/special "Turtles Forever," (which I personally hope gets a DVD release soon) but if you did, you probably remember the 80s turtles interacting with the Turtles of the 03 to now. The 80s turtles came off as very "kiddie" and less serious than the 03 turtles and some of these episodes show why that was the case. Still if you're a Ninja Turtles fan and appect both the light hearted side and the more "darker" side or just the former. Than this set is a nice addition to your collection. Not a "must have" but if you can find it at a cheap price (like I did) than it's worth thorwing a few bucks.Read full review
What your looking at here is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles vol 6, the last 12 episodes of season 3 from 1989, and the final time the series is released 12 episodes each(which is annoying). Each episode becomes interesting as you watch them. Episodes consisted on this release are "The Great Boldini","The Turtle Terminator",and my personal favorite "Mr.Ogg Goes to Town"-classic episodes from back in the day if you recall. These 3 alone will make you keep going. Most of the other episodes are bodacious fun to watch. The DVD provides nothing new like it did with the others. For collectors and die hard fans, its recommended you collect this. Dont expect the studios to re-release it on one big set, because it wont happen. So its best to still go for it.
awesome, just awesome. takes you back to the turtle days of 2nd grade. teenage mutant ninja turtles, teenage mutant ninja turtles. hero's in a half shell, turtle power. really, who can write 100 characters on this? i bought this for my 3 year old son, so he could enjoy the awesomeness i did as a child. thats my revew.
For those of you who are confused by seasons available and volumes, let me explain. Volumes 1 and 2 are seasons 1 and 2 in all their completeness. The next four volumes namely 3, 4, 5 and 6 make up season 3, all 48 episodes as they were on television back in the eighties. Seasons 4 and onwards are getting released as proper packages. So if you're looking to start your trip down memory lane, start with volume 1 and work your way to this fantastic DVD.
Wow makes me feel so old... what a great show.. this is so much better at least to me then the new turtles cartoon on the air... to anyone with half a brain this show rules and so does the original turtles movie!!
