This is a great cartridge, sounds awesome!
Cartridge arrived in clamshell Box included were screws and a screwdriver and a stylus brush. I set up the cartridge using the mirrored protector I bought years ago. Very clean accurate sound, using AT LP 120, Emotiva pre, and powered 8 studio monitors. just sounds awesome.

Love the Pearl
I love this cartridge. I have used Shure and Ortofon almost exclusively in the past.They have always been satisfactory: I have used the Shure 91 95, 97xe, and type V. However, I must say the Pearl has replaced these cartridges in my affection. I love the smoothness and separation of this cartridge. Nothing is out of place and everything is clear and musical. I listen to mostly classical and 60's pop and the Pearl sounds great with this music. I can't say the bass is boomy, as I don't push the bass on my music. But, each piece I play sounds like music should sound. Thanks Sumiko for such a reasonably priced musical sounding cartridge. Sumiko Pearl in Elliptical Stylus. I have been using Linn K9 cart for my Linn LP12 for a couple of while then I change the needle to Audio Technica which not as good as K9, lost the warmnest and too a bit too harsh for most of the record. Then after browsing I found this recommended cartridge from Sumiko, it is cheap cart compare to other option to replace K9 (with Akito arm). After easy install, I play some records and found the warmnest of K9, actually better than K9. Those harsnest in Audio Tech dissapear and also some harsnest in K9 when I listen to Adele19 also dissapear. Highly recommended... Without any doubt... Great sounding MM cartridge!!!
Like my title says, this Sumiko Pearl MM cartridge is fantastic sounding. I put it on my Technics SL 1500 MK1 and after just 15 mins of set up I was playing records with it. I have installed about 4 of these cartridges for customers who have brought their vintage turntables to me for servicing. Great cartridge, mellow but detailed. For the price it’s a definite cartridge to consider. When ease of set up is mentioned I guess it depends on your equipment. I use with grace 545 and grace h2 headshell and isn’t difficult to set up. I use 2g on most of my cartridges and works well. Jazz, kraut rock, rock, classical, punk. Great cartridge
Great cartridge for the price. I prefer it to the 2M blue and Nagaoka MP110 in my system. Tunefull bass, and a bit warm sounding which I like. Needed to raise the arm pivot a lot to get the correct SRA. Only got about 2 hours on it now, so expect the SQ to improve even more.
