This cookbook tells you in simple terms how to feed your family ecomonically. It also shows you how to do this without wasteing many of the resources of our planet. The information is presented in a most practical way.All ingredients can readily be found at the local grocery store. Some words of warning. This is not gourmet cooking;it is home cooking. While the older copies might be cheaper;the canning recipes maybe somewhat dated material compared to current information. This book has vegetarian recipes butis no solely vegetarian. The book makes many references to the bible;which I personally found uplifting. In conclusion,I have bought several copies for myself and gifts,I have found this book to be worth the price no matter what I paid.In other words very valuable information.
I bough this cookbook years ago. It is the only one that has bread recipes worth baking. This is a replacement. Mine came up missing.

Love this cook book, great recipes, good ideas and info. Some easy recipes, some more challenging, everything tasty though. Also gives good ideas about how to deal with leftover scraps, etc in a nice and non-wasteful fashion.
I absolutely LOVE this cookbook! I was first given this book in the Peace Corps by another volunteer...it had been handed down from generation to generation of volunteers because it was full of amazingly simple and delicious recipes that bring back the flavor of real food. These recipes are back to basic comfort foods that are inexpensive and wholly good for you and our environment.
Book in fantastic shape and well wrapped thank you
