It took me all the way to check out and beyond. Before I found out that they couldn’t ship to California. Because there is a new Bull sh!$t law that requires all new garage door openers to have battery back up. Well in this application it doesn’t work. Cause its for a condo that has no way to get in but the main garage door. It won’t save any lives. Plus it already has a locking pull cables that will release the door if the power goes out.

At first we could not get the wall switch to work, then found in the instructions you need to push the button 3 times to program it... after that everything works great.

Install is easy and straight forward. I purchased two openers and I have heavy insulated single doors. Lifts them with easy. Super quiet for chain driven, could be as quiet as a belt. I'm very satisfied with the quality for the price. Its a cheap solution that seems like it will last. Totally worth it, and would certainly recommend.

I've been using the Chamberlin chain drive garage door opener for 42 years. My first one had a Sears logo on it but was made by Chamberlin. The plastic gears wear out after 10 to 15 years, depending on door weight, spring adjustment, wear points lubricated, etc. Beats all other brands per stories that I've heard talk. I had a little difficulty programing the C205; but your Service-person Norma in Arizona walked me through the button pushing within a few minutes. I was so impressed with my C205 that I ordered a second unit for back-up to my second opener, before you change it and/or go up on the price. These two new units should get me through this lifetime. My only complaint, and the only reason I won't recommend it is that it doesn't come with two remotes. For the money, it should. I installed this in a house I'm selling, so it's fine for me, but if it were in my house, not only would I be upset that it has just one remote, I would hate the fact that it doesn't have soft start/stop. It starts and stops at full speed, and that's never good for a door as flimsy as they're making them today! But then, Chamberlain is out to make a passable product with a high profit margin, not to make a high quality product. Sign of the times...
