Excellent product for the money. I have charged a Li-ion cell phone and Nikon camera batteries and and it completely charged them in a couple hours - indicating the charging progress and completion by the 4 LED lights. Only problem is it is a little tricky to line up the battery contacts on to the charger contacts. Only time will tell the durability because of the playing around to lineup the contacts. I have not tried to charge double AA batteries.

This is not a plug and play gadget, but for those willing to spend a little time understanding how it works it is great! In addition to AA and AAA cells it charges both 3.6 and 7.2 volt prismatic Li-ion cells of all sizes used in cameras and camcorders. The charger pins need to carefully adjusted to touch the proper + and - pins on the battery (not the temp sensing pins} and then the holddown clamp needs to be adjusted to hold the battery stable against the charging pins for the hour or two it will take to charge. Every now-a-days camera seems to have it's own size and shape of battery, so it is really great to be able to just use this universal charger for all of them. Yeah!

This is great for testing out second hand equipment that is missing an OEM charger. With it's smart technology, it automatically determines the polarity. You just place the electrodes on + and -, and the charger does the rest. Please do note that some lithium ion batteries have a built in chip that disables recharging after a certain amount of cycles for safety sake. I use this frequently on old cell phones and cameras with brand specific charging ports. Worth having around for those times family members lose the charging cables.
