Leica should have named this one the M9, and their next M10; that's because if the M8 was a major fiasco in every way, this one is not. The IR issue is almost nonexistant and in my case - shooting BW all the time - it's not a question at all. As for the other complaints, if you want to do jumbo sized prints, get a 40MP (or medium format film) reflex camera for the same money: Leica is not about that. It's about optics and small size and light weight. it's a street camera for tasteful medium sized prints. Leica will never compete with systems like Canon, but once you've bought an M8 or M9 (or M3 or M6) camera and your favourite lenses you won't need anything more!
My first digital Leica. Very happy so far. Simple to use. An excellent way to test my rangefinder skills without blowing through tons of film.

It takes the best quality pictures you can take short of a full-size sensor Leica like the M9. It is heavy, confidence-inspiring, unobtrusive and beautiful. If you are ok with the price of one, then you will love the rest.
I am strting again to love a Leica I had a m3, I love the camera at itself I decide to buy because I saw a B/W photo of a Leica M8.2 in the Palm Beach Photographic Centre,
