This camera is fantastic. I did a lot of research on cameras and found this Canon Power Shot to be one of the best..This is a great camera. Lots of options and easy to use. The battery lasts a long time before needing charged and charges in just a couple of hours. The camera has mega features that not only add to its appeal, but will also allow the owner to experiment in order to capture the perfect photo. The Image Stabilizing feature works very well, Canon used here an optical solution, which is much, much better than a numeric IS found on cheaper cameras. Has everything the G9 has and more. Has even the same 1/1.7" CCD sensor, in difference of the most Canon SD - Elph line point and shoot with 1/2.3". The camera is quick, not only to power on but also between shots. I would also recommend buying the 4Gb or more fast SD card (class 10), it will reduce the read/write time speeding up performance. You have a lot of programs (including macro, fireworks, aquarium, etc) that set the shutter speed and aperture for you but you cannot set these values yourself. It does not mean that you cannot set anything yourself, you can adjust the white balance, compensate the exposure, etc. but you would have liked to be able to set-up the aperture and/or the speed, especially if you owned a SLR before. With the this size LCD screen, the battery life is only correct. I took about 600 pictures then started to die. I have pretty big hands and this camera is easy for me to grip and handle - other reviews noted this and they are absolutely correct. It looks sleek and smooth, but it's nearly perfect in terms of gripping it and controlling it. Perfect for capturing short clips, events, scenery, etc. I've also been impressed by the movie mode on this camera and it's ability to make fantastic HD movies in fairly low light. Being able to use the camera to take video that is limited to only the size of SD card, is also a nice feature. Plus, the camera has all the bells and whistles that you've come to expect: face detection autofocus, different color effects, 2.5" screen (plus a viewfinder), pretty high resolution movies with mono sound. It doesn't have a non compressed file format, like RAW or TIFF so you really need to be careful to save your original, unedited shots. Even rotating them can reduce quality in the compressed jpg format. The plastic battery door is cheap and flimsy. Another irritation is the USB port door, which doesn't seem to open far enough to allow you to easily insert the cable. From my experience with this camera I do not recommend use SD950 IS at low light without flash or ISO 1600, it's increase noise dramatically. I thoroughly recommend the camera inspite of its cost for a compact digital. Very satisfied with this camera. Great job Canon.Read full review
I bought this (my second one) used and the condition is actually "like new." Wonderful! Of the many features on this camera, the best is that it has an optical viewfinder. Using this, instead of the LCD screen, is quicker, the camera is more stable, and I can leave the screen off and get nearly double the number of pictures per battery life. This extra battery life is very important to me. Furthermore, this is the best (only?) digital camera with good technical specs that has an optical viewfinder that truly IS a 'pocket camera." I strongly encourage you to consider this camera if you think it will meet your needs. It meets mine.
This camera ROCKS! I love the way the pictures come out so clear. I have tried with other cameras taking pictures in the dark and they come out completely black. You cannot see anything BUT with this camera I took several pictures in complete darkness and when I reviewed the pictures they were as clear as day. I love the zoom feature. Zooms in very close when i was very far from my son. It takes clean, clear, crisp pictures and I love the fact that I can just connect the usb cable and press the print button on the camera-my pictures are printing. The size and weight of camera are just the right size. NOt too small or too big. I love that its a Coach Edition. The Coach camera bag has a small pocket inside to put another battery or memory card. It has a lot of features that are too long to list. This is a great camera. It also has face detection. My son was moving around while I was going to take the picture and the little square just followed his face where ever he was... Can't go wrong with this camera... Thanks.Read full review
I've had four of these Canon PowerShot DS 950 IS cameras over the past few years and love them for the hiking I do., They're compact and light, yet substantial in feel and quality of pictures.

The Canon SD950 is one of the best buys on the market right now. With its 12.1 Megapixel sensor this little camera can give you files clean and large enough to make 11x14 inch prints easily. There is no reason to pay more for later models like the SD990 because the extra megapixels on the sensor only add noise and you actually get cleaner files with the SD950. The Canon SD950 is basically the G9 in a smaller and pocketable package. Other than full manual control, which 95% of users will never access, this one will do everything you need it to do. And it comes in an all metal case with one of the sharpest lenses Canon ever put in a pocket camera.
This is the second camera I purchased because my first was stolen. Great value for the level of pics that I get. Easy to use - rugged construction. One of the best point and shoot cameras I've used.

Have yet to test it out, but so far I'm pretty satisfied for the whole thing. Shipping was perfect. The camera features are pretty awesome. And the price for it was just around my budget.
I bought the New Canon digital Camera 12.1 Megapixel three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive Camera. It has the feturs i was looking for.
