Before I bought the Fuji Z1, I did much research and read a lot of post from many people from all kinds of website. I finally decide to get this little camera. I currently have an Olympus C5050 digital camera. The reason I bought the Fuji Z1 is because I wanted a small compact digital camera where I can just slip it in my normal shirt pocket and the way I go. My Olympus was a great digital camera but it was not very compact. I just wanted to get to the point on this little camera. It is very compact alright. It is the size of a credit card and about 1 inch thick. I like the port, it connects to the computer and all you have to do is place the camera on the port, press the button and you can get the photos on your computer in 3 seconds. To disconnect from the computer, just press the button on the port again and you are disconnect from the computer. Keep in mind the camera must be place on the port to charge, there’s no other way around it. I like the camera from the start, very friendly to use. Movie mod is good too and the sounds are good. One thing I like the most is that it played in Window Media right off the bat. The picture quality at 5MP fine mode (highest mode) is great, but not excellent. When compared to my Olympus C5050 at the same shot, the Olympus is better in term of fine line/clear quality. I did this by zooming in both pictures on PhotoShop and after several zoom, the Olympus still has the better/clearer pictures. Also one thing I like about the Olympus that the Fuji doesn’t have is the Olympus has two memory slots for XD card and CF card. Also I love the burst mode on the Olympus. It’s takes frame by frame shots of a person by holding down on the shooting button and it goes up to about 40 shots burst mode. The Fuji doesn’t have this mode. It also does not have a panorama mode that the XD card supports. I like the camera a lot, but the quality could be better. However, the camera is very good for people on the go, vacationing, camping, or just wants a compact digital camera. I got this baby from eBay for $165, display/like new model. The battery life is comparable to your average rechargeable digital camera, up to 3-4 hours. However, it varies when using the flash a lot. I guess it really depends on your use. I almost bought the Casio EX-S600 which cost about $275-$300. However, the price was good on this find and I bought the Fuji Z1 instead. Because every camera has its PROS AND CONS, I think this is a winner in its own ways. My next one is a Digital SLR Professional line. Good Luck FolksRead full review
I really like the size and available megapixels. I can carry it on my belt and not even know it is there. It's quick to retrieve and use. It is also very user friendly and takes very good pictures. I was supprised to find that it took quite good low light photos. I do wish that it had a view finder along with the lcd screen on the back for framing the shot faster. In order to download or charge the camera batteries, you must place the camera in holder that comes with it and then plug in two other cords to charge, or use the UBS plug along with the holder to charge the battries. It is just kind of a hassle. I decided to buy this camera because all my other cameras are Fuji Film and all work about the same and use the same icons. There was'nt much of a learning curve. I have enjoyed all my other Fuji Film cameras.Read full review
Bought it for the price, lower than other cameras. i Like the fact that it has a non protruding optical zoom. Like the fast speed it takes picture. Pictures are decent and clear even at normal, and not fine. Using the digital zoom is hard to get clear pictures (unlike with the konica minolta x1). I don't like the idea that you have to use a cradle in order to use all the functions of the camera, but now most cameras do that. I do apprecite that the screen is reinforced so it wont scratch so easily.
This FindPix Camera is an excellent compromise. It's 5.1 Megapixel image size will give good quality prints and will allow some editing before the resolution becomes unacceptable. Obviously, we would like to have 8, 10 or more Megapixels (more resolution is always preferred). It is extremely portable and easy to use. I particularly like the 30 fps movies and, with a 1 gb memory card, you can record almost 15 minutes of video. For what it is, I consider it to be an outstanding value and liked it so much that I gave two of them away for Christmas. My only negative was when I had to send it back to Fuji for repair and did not have it availabe for use for an extended period of time.
I loved the size and shape of the camera. The battery lasted forever and the docking station was a godsend. However the pictures were terrible. I own a canon elph 5mp. even on it's lowest setting it was twice as good as this ones highest. When looking at the picture properties I noticed that the DPI was only 72...WOW...that is LOW LOW LOW. My other camera shots at 130 dpi at minimum. The pictures looked ok and in some cases ( lots of sunlight ) not bad. But any shadows or overcast days the colors ran or turned purplish pink. This is a get camera to give to the kids and let them run wild. It will last all day and is easy to use. The pictures kids take of their feet or thumbs are funny enough so you dont really care about the quality. If you do want some higher end photos dont get a slim cam with folded optics. it will not produce the same kind of pictures a regular inline optics one will have. All in all..I liked it, Loathed it, sold it to friend.Read full review
A great camera for the want to be expet photographer. Light weight and easy to use and the screen is super sized for easy viewing. Buy some extra batteries (you can find losts inexpensively on Ebay) as the camera seems to go through them a little more quickly that other digital cameras I've used. It's a great deal and the images are sharp and clear.
I bought this camera as a step up from an older Fuji Film Camera I had. One of the best choices I've ever made. The Z1 I purchased was a factory reconditioned, but looks and works brand new. The pictures are crystal clear and the camera is easy to use. It has a very nice size LCD screen that gets great color and really gives you a great view of what you are taking a picture of. The Z1 is slim and extremely attractive. It is small and practical. It doesn't take AA batteries like a lot of cameras (and every other camera I have owned). Instead, it has a charging cradle that plugs into your computer. The cradle serves three purposes. It securely cradles the camera, charges it, and enables you to take the pictures from the camera and put them onto your computer. As for the pictures, they are crystal clear. I use this camera to take pictures of the items I list on eBay. No matter how close up I take the picture, they always come out clear. Open that picture up on your computer and zoom allll the way in and you can still see vivid detail...no blurriness! I highly recommend this camera for ANYONE. Whether you buy it new or factory reconditioned, it will provide you with an awesome picture taking experience. ~~DarkLightGaming~~Read full review
The fujifilm finepix z1 digital camera was a great buy! First of all, I was attracted to the camera because of its design. It is so slim and compact. Everytime I go out with freinds, I just slip the camera into my pocket. It is just about the size of a deck of cards. It has a very easy layout that anyone could use, unlike other sony digital cameras I have had. The lcd screen is a very nice size, to review the pictures that you just took. The only thing that could make the screen better, is that fuji could have added more resulution to the screen. The camera takes beautiful pictures. It take the best pictures outside in natural light mode. Overall the camera is really good for the price, features, and size.
We purchased this camera for my son, who is leaving for Japan on his first tour of duty. It is sleek and slim and just the right size for what he will be using it for. It takes very good pictures and the price was right, not that he is worth everything and then some that we spend on him, but he will not have to feel bad if it should be stolen, broken or lost. Thank you for the great quality camera!
I wanted a good, small camera that isn't a bother to carry around with me regularly. I was tired of never having a camera when the perfect picture presented itself. This camera fits the bill! 'Small is the word. Big on features. It doesn't look like it, but it does have an optical zoom (the elements are contained in the housing - no snorkel moving around). The rest of the camera is basically screen. Metal body gives the camera a rugged feel. I love this camera. My only complaint would be that the video clips are too short. After a few seconds it needs to dump to the memory card and stop the video. I wish this had a bigger buffer.
