I bought this camera for my 11-year old daughter for her birthday. She badly wanted a digital camera, but we did not want to get her a new one. This camera has been perfect. It provides good quality for a great price for a used digital camera. Be aware of batteries, though. The seller provided regular alkaline batteries (a pleasant extra), but it doesn't work on alkaline batteries. It malfunctions. I figured it out, and my daughter loves it. Best thing I like: cheap and easy, but good quality. It's very simple (no zoom), but great for a first camera. Thing I don't like: it doesn't have a USB or other port for getting the pics off. You have to get a card device to transfer pics.
This older digital docking camera sold for $400 new at its inception. The DX 3500 was and remains as simple as it gets when it comes to dealing with technology. Apparently reliable, they remain available in numbers and sell for a tiny fraction of their original cost by end users who have upgraded to hi definition units. When they have the docking station they are practically always ready to take pictures or transfer them to a computer. The good on-board LCD menu system is very simple and very limited. You can't have the one without the other. Finally, because they are Kodak they have a solid reputation for quality and reliability - and the DX 3500 is not an exception. When it comes to picture quality and a choice for definition the camera falls along the wayside against today's new cameras, even low priced cameras. The DX 3500 is for sharing quick pictures and not the critical shot that brings wide eyed awe to a viewer. When it comes to low or less than optimal lighting the DX 3500 falls below today's average. There's little or no adjust-ability for poor lighting other than the built-in flash. If you want great pictures then the DX 3500 won't help you. If it's low cost, ease and Internet type picture quality you need then these guys are a perfect choice.Read full review
This is a great camera for a great price. It's a little chunky so it's really good for younger kids. And it's really simple to use. One click action and easy one touch buttons. Does not have all of the more in depth features but still a great camera for first time digital camera users.
This is a nice camera. It's probably the functional equivalent of the old Brownie and Instamatic cameras, but there's nothing wrong with that. It takes pleasing photos, that make nice "shapshot" prints (I wouldn't go beyond a 5"x7" typically), and would be great for a digital photo album. Ignore the "digital zoom." It doesn't really mean anything. Use NiCad's, NiMH, or Kodak's lithium battery. Great take-it-anywhere, fun, inexpensive camera.
I love this camera! It is very easy to use and ultra reliable. It may not be the best camera out there, but it takes decent pictures, the battery last for a long time and it does not have so many functions that it is impossible to figure out. That also means there is less chance of it breaking. The Kodak software for loading pictures to your pc is easy to use, and it allows you to save and edit pictures in a simple manner. Overall, I think this is a great everday camera, that just about anyone can use and figure out. Also, for the price you can find one for on ebay, is a fraction of what you would expect to pay if purchased new. I highly reccomend this camera for anyone who wants decent pictures without the complications of some of other more technical cameras out there on the market.
This was one of Kodak's first digital cameras. I have had the best luck with this model in taking beautiful photos..... particularly landscapes. Sometimes flash photos taken at night require some adjusting. The CRV3 battery lasts for me well over 6 months and I take a LOT of photos for my cat rescue organization.

If I wouldn't have dropped my 1st DX3500 camera and broken it, I would still use it, I had already purchased a second one from Ebay but it quit working , so I purchased this one and it is still working just fine.

This is my first digital camera, but do own a higher quality SLR film camera. I would say this camera is great for a beginner in the digital camera world. I purchased this used from ebay and it did not come with manual or software and the great thing is kodak.com has the manual and software to download ready to go. The features on the camera are super simple and if you own a computer you can figure this camera out without a manual. Pictures are great , use is simple, would suggest getting camera dock and rechargable batteries. Transferring pictures to computer with the dock is simple. You won't be sorry with this camera.
I purchased this camera for my 5 year old son, since the 'kid-friendly' cameras were so expensive! It is very easy to use, just point and shoot. Has nice screen on the back, so he can see what he is taking a picture of. One drawback, for a more experienced photographer would be that there is no zoom capability. Overall, a nice camera that is very easy to work!
I purchased this used point and shoot Kodak cameria for my wife, who kept getting confused attempting to take photos of our grand childrem with "my" cameria. It's operation was simple and straight foward, and she was taking great pictures the day after it's arrival. Also, finding the proper drivers to download the pictures to her computer was a snap, as the Kodak site made finding the drivers almost fool proof. I give the seller two thumbs up.
