It was not only one of the original consumer digicams, it was also the first to incorporate an LCD monitor for viewing and composing images on-screen. Other Casio innovations have included the swiveling lens design, one of the first 3-megapixel cameras on the market, and extended photographic capabilities that have brought Casio from the consumer-electronics sphere into the realm of "real" cameras, with rich feature sets matching the desires of active photographers.The QV-2300UX is a midrange 2.11-megapixel camera with a wide range of features designed to endear it to both novices and advanced amateurs alike. Combining the signature Casio swivel-lens design with extensive exposure controls and a wide range of "scene presets" for the average user, the 2300UX offers a strong feature set in an approachable package. Continuing Casio's recent practice of bundling the IBM "Microdrive" 340-megabyte memory card with their cameras, the QV-2300UX offers extraordinary image capacity at a surprisingly modest price. The Casio QV-2300UX features a 2.11-megapixel CCD imager that yields 1600 x 1200 or 800 x 600 still images and 320 x 240 AVI movie clips up to 30 seconds in length. It features a 3x optical (12x digital) zoom lens with a macro mode that focuses as close as 1cm. It also has multi-pattern, spot and center-weighted metering options, Program AE, aperture and shutter priority AE and full manual. The IBM 340MB Microdrive allows up to 400 images in high resolution and 2054 in economy.
