These are excellent cameras...but they are almost 20 years old. I would recommend these, but be careful that the item works as it worked when new. I have taken thousands of pictures with this model over six years of use. They are easy to hold, easy to use, and the exposure calculations are very well-done, and they fit in a pocket or a purse. When these are new, they are fantastic. I am an amateur photographer shooting mostly manual exposed pictures now, and bought this to be able to get VERY GOOD results, with decisions more than those associated with composure. The aperture is good, and the autofocus is fast. However, this item is a complex little device with lots of technology packed into it. This includes logical, power distribution as well as servo-mechanical. They were mass-produced for the consumer market. IF you elect to buy a used one, one of these things may not be up-to-spec anymore. They are not made to be collectable items to be used decades later. They are functional little things that are made be accessible to the average non-photographer buyer. In trying to replace my old one, I have bought three of these used, and all three had something broken on them. If you buy one, try to get one that is tested to to be in working condition, and verify that carefully. 1) Does it focus correctly at infinity, or nearby on a specific object? 2) Does the DIGITAL Zoom function? (That's an option you have to choose in the menu. 3) Does the lens protector close when powered off? (That fails frequently on this model) 4) Does the flash function when a subject is in shadows? 5) Does the external LCD work in both review mode and shooting mode? 6) Is the battery compartment in order and making contact with all batteries? These are some things I have seen fail in the five models that I have used in my experience. Good luck! IF it works out, you'll love this camera.Read full review

Great item. Just as described. For and older family member who had the same exact one and it broke. Bought him another type but he wanted the exact same one as he was comfortable using it! So glad you had it!!

I have the A620 Canon, but actually like this one better. Smaller, but just as capable as it’s bigger brother. Only thing I don’t like about this camera is that to time and date stamp pictures, you have to be in “postage stamp” mode which is a lessor quality resolution. Why Canon didn’t allow this for all resolutions is beyond me. Otherwise great camera!

I bought one of these many years ago and used for so long, by accident I dropped and so it was time for a "new" camera, I went out and bought another Cannon (I have a Nikon also)... I don't even use the others, I went on to EBAY and found another (now less because it is older and used) but to this day I still swear by this model. I also have a special needs (adult) son and purchased one for him as well, I have taught him how to take pictures and scrapbook (giving him a hobby) and it is an activity we both enjoy doing together and if we get "the GREAT shot" then we choose to frame it! IMO - best camera and model ever... Thanks, has brought MANY happy years and memories for me to reflect on over the years (and many more to come). Respectfully.

This is a replacement camera. This purchase was a great buy, and I am very happy with the camera & accessories. The camera is easy to use, and the price was perfect for my budget.
