Mirror Upgrade Was Well Worth It.
I missed having built-in Homelink when I bought my '17 Golf Wolfsburg last year, so as soon as VW offered the upgrade I bought it. I was surprised to find that the auto-dimming and compass made the mirror even more worthwhile, and the mirror changed my opinion of the entire car for the better! That may sound weird, but it you think about it, you use the mirror hundreds of times per day. A local body shop installed it with wiring for $78. It is worth every penny.

Good upgrade
Works as expected. DIY install was challenging but doable if you follow you tube videos, etc. For a 2019 Alltrack the trim piece for the rear view mirror differs from the you tube videos. A pillar trim piece removal was most difficult - the metal clips don't pull out fully only partially. You have to slide the metal clips up toward the roof in its "A" pillar plastic piece channel to free the clips -
