This is my first phone w/ blue tooth capability. I got the plantronics ear piece $40 and the phone was practically free w/ my sprint rebate. The phone is really sleak and super tiny, almost to tiny but since i never hold it to my ear its great. It comes with a voice recognition program that will recognize names in your phone book w/out have to go throught the pain of pre recording you names. HOWEVER i forgot my blue tooth one day felt naked. not to mention it was like a play phone maybe better for a girl if your not going to have a blue tooth. Not sterro typing its just to small to dial easy. Camera works great even has a zoom !!!
The Good: Samsung's new A640 features a great dissapearing screen, bluetooth, and camera phone. The camera phone has been rated very well for having good pictures with crisp colors. Even indoor pictures with low light sometimes come out better than you would think. The phone features bluetooth which is a great added bonus for the price and connects to headsets with ease. Sound is crisp and loud. The Bad: The phone feels flimsy and not as solid as previous Samsung phones out there. The shiney gloss surface does attract a lot of fingerprints. Although the speakerphone gets loud, the sound is often muddy if the person on the other line speaks just a little too loudly. Conclusion: Overall the Samsung A640 is a good phone, gets good reception and for the minimal pricing has nice features like bluetooth. The phone has its flaws but I believe the positives will most likely shadow the flaws and most users would work around it.Read full review
I like this phone a lot it has a lot of great features and is a really nice size it is really nice looking also. But it has one flaw the hinges on the left side have been cracking and with normal usage the crack seems to get worse and worse and it will eventually break and the phone will be in 2 pieces. This has happened with 2 of our phones now and I have replaced them with same phones off ebay. I know this phone very well is one reason why I go back and it is also very affordable on ebay to replace before upgrade with Sprint. I would recommend this phone but beware of the cracking issue.
I like the Samsung SPH A640 (Sprint)The phone was bought for a child that did not need internet or a fancy phone to do lots of diffrent tasks and very easy to use .The phone was cheep and not so exspensive so that if lost I would not be out of paying out lots of $$$. I found ebay to be a great place to buy used goods such as the cell phone at a very good and replacment price .Cell phone are very pricy so the thought of a child loosing one make ebay the perfect place to find this kind of item that these days is a must to keep track of your child or children and for your child or children to have that exstra sercurity when out and about playing with friends ect..The Samsung SPH A640 (Sprint)provides this for me but new sprint phone are very exspensive to loose so second hand used sprint phone are great just for what a child will need to use at any time of the day .This phone also has a built in camara that is also fun for children to use it also has tex ability that most kids love .The phone is good for adults it does the job to keep intouch with all your contacts and small enough for my child to carry around . I payed $25 for this electronic piece of mind that i would never let my child walk out the door without ,Thank you ebay and sprint .Read full review

My Nextel service wasn't the best and I didn't want to get a real expensive phone. When I saw this one was free I said what the heck....I have not been disappointed. Sure this phone doesn't have all the bells, but for a free phone I find it to be pretty featured packed. It has Bluetooth, Voice SMS (which I guess is like recording a message and then sending it via text message not sure if this is on all Sprint phones) Ready link (which coming from Nextel I use and don't really find it that much slower) The camera while only VGA I think takes great pictures. The ones I have taken have come out very clear. I do admit I was a little scared to get a phone with an internal antenna, but so far this phone has had pretty good reception. Where I don't get Sprint service it has no problem picking up a roaming signal from Verizon. PROS: I love the all black design. Very sleek Reception Bluetooth Readylink Voice SMS Strong Vibrate Cons: No flash for camera Speaker for Readylink and Speaker phone isn't super loud (but remember I am coming from Nextel) No memory card No EVDORead full review
