The igniter/sensor is a necessary spare part for landlords. Nearly all common brand furnaces of the 90's and early 2000's used a similar part. This item will save the day when the gas furnace is trying over and over again to ignite and failing after a very short burn time. Often the small rods on the end of the igniter have caked up with crud from continual burning in the natural gas flame. A simple polishing or cleaning of the rods with fine sand paper or a scrubby pad will get you up and running. However, sometimes the problem will repeat and then you should change the part. The Supco 24 is as good as any item on the market. You can pay $60 for the same part in a bag with a different label, or you can get this same part for much less.

Tte product arrived fast. The unit has not been opened yet. But it does look like a better water heater sensor, ignitor than the last one.

about half the cost as oem part, some tradespeople I've talked to think the solid ignitor is less fragile and more durable than the thin u shaped oem ignitors.
