Being made of hard plastic makes the part that inserts into the bottom part brittle....and both of mine of have one part that is broken.....still works as three parts on each are ok. Kudos to whoever invented this feeder!!!
Some small birds such as the gold finches were unable to crack the seeds from the song bird feeders so I hung another feeder with shelled sunflower seeds. They love the sunflower seeds however larger birds like pine Siskins and house finches etc would leave the regular feeders and use the gold finches’ feeder. Not allowing the goldfinches to eat. The clingers only feeder works like a charm. The goldfinches and chickadees love it. They can eat in peace without the stress of being chased off their feeder.
