This one was defective, but maybe others are fine?
At first it wouldn't work at all, but even when it looked like it was working it wasn't even close to accurate. Our manual gauges closely matched each other and the weather station at 3", when this one registered under 1-1/2". We were offered $20 off a better model or to replace a part on this one. simple unit that works like it should.
Works Great! but if you buy it, make sure when you put batteries in the unit that go's outside, to make sure to bend the metal tabs on the battery cover down, to make contact with the batteries. Also the mechanism that rocks back and forth that measures the rain, has a pin to hold it in place, that to needs to be in place. that's the 2 things I had to fix on it. after that, it works like a charm.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
