I bought this to boost the output of TV RF modulators, trying to get to an Amateur Television transmitter power level. My over the air television lost a number of channels overnight. troubleshooting showed no physical problems. I inserted one of these in the line with a couple of SMA - F adapters. it restored my missing channels. I live 90.9 miles from TV hill. unlike things sold as TV preamps, this actually serves that need. if you need a first stage amp for an RF modulastor, or a TV preamp, this is it.

I test this "Low Noise RF Amplifier". The output noise level is high comparing to a typical operational amplifier. In the attached screenshot, yellow trace is an input signal (50 mv /Div) and the red trace is the amplified signal (500 mv /Div). Although the amplifier has about 30dB gain, the noise level in the output signal is higher than that of using a simple op amps.

tI use my preamp as an antenna amplifier, both to increase distant signal strengths and to overcome line loss in the coax.

First these arent passive, they must be always on meaning having 12 volts, and if they don't, then you get no signal pass through. No on or off with these. Then, they cant handle 4 watts of CB transmit without blowing. These might be good for other applications, but CB and HAM steer clear

I use these for quite a few things. Pre amplifier for RF uses (hf-Vhf/Uhf), also great on the bench for frequency counters, scopes and so on. Cant beat it, i have at least a dozen.
