The biggest of the big-ticket cars sold on eBay Motors this year are mostly late-model supercars and luxury models, but a few classics also managed to sneak into the list of Top 17 in 2017.
Top honors go to a barely used 2015 Rolls-Royce Wraith Base Coupe, which sold for an eBay transaction price of $274,888.* That sounds steep for a used car, at least until you realize a new one costs about $325,000. The Wraith is a lot of car, coming standard since 2013 with a 632-horsepower, 6.6-liter V-12, tied to an eight-speed automatic. The list of over-the-top luxury features is long, including a crystal rotary shifter, lamb’s wool floor covering, his-and-hers three-foot umbrellas that spring from the door jambs, and a headliner consisting of 1,340 LEDs to create the effect of a night sky.
eBay Motors is the vendor of choice for many pre-owned Rolls-Royce cars - opens in new window or tab., and parts for the cars - opens in new window or tab. are also readily available.

2006 Ford GT
In second place is a highly coveted 2006 Ford GT, selling for $240,420. As race fans know, the first generation of this car, known as the GT40, was created to beat the Europeans at their own game at Le Mans (after Enzo Ferrari spurned a Ford buyout offer). And win the 24 Hours this V-8-powered supercar did, four times, from 1966 through 1969.
With the original cars commanding seven-figure sums, the way was clear for Ford to capitalize on its heritage. The next-generation GT, designed by Ford’s Camilo Pardo with input from living legend Carroll Shelby, was debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 1995 and developed for production through 2003 when the final version was shown as part of Ford’s centenary celebration.

2001 Lamborghini Diablo
The new version was three inches taller than the super-low original and considerably more refined. GTs were delivered as 2005 and 2006 models and were so in demand that bidding for one reached $557,000. A total of 4,050 were produced. They were valuable then, and they’re super-valuable now. A bright-red 2005 Ford GT made the list in the number five position. Ford GTs - opens in new window or tab. are well represented on eBay Motors.
No less than four Lamborghinis made eBay’s Top 17 in 2017—one a 2001 Diablo selling for an even $200,000. Chrysler bought Lamborghini in 1987 and completed the development of this supercar—the first Lambo to be capable of 200 miles per hour. The eBay example is from the last year of production.
Under the hood is a 5.7-liter version of Lambo’s V-12, generating 485 horsepower. It benefited from Chrysler’s emphasis on creature comforts—beginning in 1993, it even had power steering, plus adjustable seats and wheel, electric windows, and an Alpine sound system. The Breguet clock was a $10,500 option.

1970 Dodge Challenger
Finally, two classic muscle cars made the list, a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 at number seven for $210,000 and a Dodge Challenger convertible from the same year in the 13th spot for $180,000. The ’70 Challenger - opens in new window or tab. is one of Detroit’s most sought-after muscle cars, with Hemi-powered models (capable of zero to 60 in 6.3 seconds) the most prized.
Fords don’t get more iconic than the Boss 429 Mustang, which was produced in 1969 and 1970. Featuring the NASCAR version of Ford’s 429 V-8, they were hand-assembled by Kar-Kraft in Brighton, Mich. Only 500 of the 1970 model were produced. The shark-nose 1970 Mustang Fastback - opens in new window or tab. was popular, and cars (including concours-quality restorations) are available.
Also in the Top 17: 2016 examples of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Bentley Continental GT; and an impressive group of Ferraris (430, 458 Spyder, 599 Fiorano, 330/P4, 458 Italia).
