When Ford reintroduced the iconic Bronco nameplate for the 2021 model year, eager buyers greeted the new full-size SUV with great fanfare and a long waiting list. The buzz partly revolved around the availability of a four-door version for the first time.
While a factory-built - opens in new window or tab. four-door Bronco may not have been on Ford’s menu until recently, that doesn't mean one wasn't available to buyers. At least two conversion companies offered a four-door Bronco in the 1980s and ’90s, and one of these hard-to-find models was recently offered on eBay.

The Magnum Bronco Was Not a Hack Job

A 1990 example produced by Magnum Motor Coach of Michigan, this well-preserved Bronco is one of about 500 produced by the company over a decade. Part of Magnum’s appeal was that the company went to great pains to create a truck with a factory-produced look by using as many OEM components as possible.

Rather than starting with a shorter two-door production Bronco, the painstaking conversion began with a new four-door Ford F-Series pickup truck - opens in new window or tab. fresh off the assembly line. Modifications included removal of the cab’s rear wall and window and adding a finished interior in back with a third row of seating. Details included factory Bronco badging and trim inside and out.

Finished in the top XLT trim of the time, this nicely equipped Magnum Bronco shows very well for its age. Its two-tone silver paint shines like new, and the body shows no evidence of dents, rust, or other damage. All the original chrome and badging are in place and in similarly excellent condition. With just 130,000 miles on the odometer, this Bronco has seen light use over the years.

Plenty of Grunt

Power comes from a 5.8-liter V-8 matched with a four-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The Magnum Bronco's engine is said to start right up and run well, and it has been serviced in preparation for the sale with new spark plugs - opens in new window or tab., wires, and an oil and filter change.

The Magnum Bronco's interior shows just as well as the exterior, with no evidence of rips, tears, or other damage. A full-length headliner - opens in new window or tab. included with the conversion looks like it came from the factory, as does the third row of seating and full carpeting front to rear. Original equipment includes front and rear air-conditioning, cruise control, cloth upholstery, and a locking center console - opens in new window or tab.. An interesting feature is power windows for front seat passengers and manual windows in the back.
cargo area
With its generous passenger and cargo room, stout towing capacity, and go-anywhere four-wheel drive, this unique and capable truck will likely turn heads wherever it goes. The wisdom of offering two additional doors has been proven in the marketplace, where new four-door Broncos have been handily outselling their two-door stablemates since the re-envisioned Bronco first arrived in showrooms.
With plenty of life left and a reasonable Buy-It-Now price of $29,999, this Magnum Bronco could even be an alternative to a new Bronco—without the long waiting list.
