World’s first original Mustang replica to be revealed atAmelia Island Concours d’Elegance
Revology Cars is launching a replica of the first true Mustang that remains true to the original Pony car, but with modern powertrain and technology. The first generation Mustang ran from model year 1964½ to 1966, setting automotive history and creating an American cultural icon that is still loved to this day. Ford sold almost 1.3 million Mustangs from that period and that instantly recognizable profile still looks great from any angle fifty years later.
Fifty years after the original Ford Mustang was introduced to the public at the New York World’s Fair, the Revology Mustang replica is set to be unveiled March 14, 2015 at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, one of the world’s most prestigious automotive events.
The Revology Mustang replica is not simply a copy of the original car. Revology’s founder, Tom Scarpello, calls his version a “postmodern interpretation” of the original Mustang. Automotive technology has advanced immensely over the past 50 years and these old classics are truly outdated. Revology Cars aimed at keeping the style and character of the original Mustang, while seamlessly integrating modern technology and materials to improve performance, safety, reliability, and comfort.
While the exterior and interior of the Revology Mustang is close to the original Mustang in appearance, “The car’s powertrain and suspension are all-new,” says Nathan Loucks, vehicle integration supervisor. A fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 engine, a modern electronic engine management system, and an electronically controlled automatic or manual transmission are only a few of the many modern upgrades that were included in the Mustang’s makeover.
A MacPherson front suspension and three-link rear end design offer an excellent balance of performance and ride quality. Four-wheel disc brakes at all four corners, dual-chamber master cylinder, rack and pinion steering, side intrusion beams, collapsible steering column, three-point seatbelts, and LED lighting are the many active and passive safety features that were not available on the original Mustang.
Driver and passenger comfort are not ignored. Modern features, such as remote keyless entry, power door locks, power seats, tilt steering column, intermittent wipers, digital message center, and even Bluetooth, are designed into the interior to be minimally intrusive.
You can literally unbolt a piece from a Revology Mustang replica and bolt it to an original Mustang and it will fit.
The Revology Mustang replica features an all-new steel body, produced by Dynacorn and licensed by Ford. Revology makes several proprietary changes to the body in order to integrate modern components. “We started with a licensed original body because it is authentic,” says Scarpello. Every new Mustang replica comes with a one-year, unlimited mileage bumper-to-bumper warranty. Powertrain components are warrantied for three years and the body is covered against rust and corrosion for five years.
The Revology Mustang replica base price is $119,500 FOB Winter Park, Florida. It is available in both convertible and fastback body styles. Revology Cars is accepting orders now for delivery in Spring 2016. Please call (800) 974-4463 or visit www.revologycars.com for details.
