A new Instagram video - opens in new window or tab. featuring McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri provides a behind-the-scenes look at their delightful shopping patterns. They give thanks to eBay for helping them find the things they love.
eBay recorded the video right before the Las Vegas Grand Prix in late November. In a lightning round of Driven to Know, Norris and Piastri pepper each other with questions about their off-track obsessions. What’s In Store
The McLaren drivers placed a lot of padel gear on their list.
Here’s one obsession that they share. Both Norris and Piastri are keen on padel, the paddle tennis game that originated in Mexico. The fast-growing sport is most often played in doubles on a compact walled court. Its popularity with F1 drivers has boosted padel-mania around the globe.
The wide selection of paddles and padel gear on eBay make browsing a thing of joy. Some would say the sport’s less briny than pickleball, and it packs a bigger adrenaline rush. Bouncing shots off the walls requires a higher level of spatial awareness. That’s where F1 drivers shine.
Norris is a shutterbug. His camera of choice for the eBay storefront: the Leica Q3 43 digital.
The new McLaren Formula 1 eBay storefront - opens in new window or tab. also reflects Norris’s love for photography. The store features a few of his favorite Leica cameras and an array of vintage photographic prints from the United Kingdom.
Piastri loves this Bert Oldfield signed autographed cricket book page available on eBay.
Piastri’s obsession with Australian cricket and the sustainability of the Great Barrier Reef speak volumes about his commitment to the continent and the critters that inhabit the sea.
Mods Mods Mods
Before the Instagram video finished, Lando pokes fun at himself and his personal DIY mechanical skills. But his zeal for modding and obsession with yellow tinted headlights is beyond reproach. Not everyone appreciates the retina-roasting blue-white light of today’s modern LED headlamps.
An inexpensive steering wheel cover with orange stitching adds a little pizzaz to your interior.
Things needn’t be complicated, of course. Simple mods like shift knob swaps and steering wheel cover fitment are accessible to all.
Life for the F1 drivers is not all about four-wheeled pursuits. The dynamic duo’s enthusiasm for collectibles, gaming, fashion, and sports runs the gamut from golf and American football to Finding Nemo.
