Given the laws of supply and demand, it was inevitable that barely used Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance models would arrive on eBay. The company’s initial run of Dream Editions—Lucid’s first electric supercar—number only 520 units. No more will be made.
The 2022 Dream Edition recently for sale in Orlando, Fla., with only 500 miles on the odometer, had an asking price of $240,000. That’s a $70,000 jump from its original $170,500. The first Lucid Air deliveries to customers took place in October 2021.
The Dream Performance is the fastest Lucid Air, with 1,111 horsepower and 451 miles of range on a single charge. Only the Dream versions get painted Eureka Gold.

Zero to 60 in 2.5 Seconds
The car for sale is almost as quick as the competing Tesla Model S - opens in new window or tab. Plaid Edition. The Lucid can zoom from zero to 60 in less than 2.5 seconds—and take the quarter-mile in 9.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the Plaid gets to 60 in 1.99 seconds.
However, the Lucid has the edge for exclusivity and range. Tesla Model Ss are abundant, but the Lucid Air still turns heads. The 2022 Model S Plaid goes an estimated 396 miles after a full charge.

The seller reserved the Lucid Dream Edition in 2020 and just took delivery a few weeks ago.
I am thoroughly enjoying it and am not looking for a quick/desperate sale. Since there are no known ‘comps’ that I know of, I am pricing it based on uniqueness and rarity and the fact you cannot buy one new anymore.

A Second Lucid on eBay
There was another nearly identical Lucid Air Dream Edition on eBay, with an asking price of $225,000. That one was in Owasso, Okla., and it is number 34 off the assembly line. The owner currently has it in climate-controlled storage.

Lucid Airs were delivered in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Colorado, Washington, and Montana, among other states. When all the 520 Dreams have been delivered, the company will switch to the $139,000 Air Grand Touring version, with 800 horsepower and a range of 516 miles.
The cheapest Air is the Pure, priced at $77,400 and requiring a $300 deposit. The Pure has 406 miles of capacity and 480 horsepower.
I experienced the Lucid in a quick blast around the company’s Arizona factory. The Air was memorable not only for its very rapid acceleration but also for very assured handling, a high quality of fit and finish, and nearly silent operation.
Just the Beginning for Lucid
Lucid is such a new EV brand that its presence on eBay is just beginning. However, you can buy a Lucid water bottle - opens in new window or tab. and a t-shirt - opens in new window or tab., among other signs of the company’s growing presence in the auto industry.
Lucid has a colorful history. It was founded in 2007 as Atieva, which is now the company’s battery brand. Peter Rawlinson, who was the vice president of engineering at Tesla, is the chief executive of Lucid (as it became in 2016).
The factory in Casa Grande, Ariz., cost $700 million to build. The company went public in 2021 and its next vehicle—the Gravity SUV—is due next year.
