How’s your classic car IQ? If we said that the Ford Mustang was introduced in 1965, would you come back and say, no, it was initially a 1964 and a half? Then you’re definitely a car nut. And you would be completely wrong in the eyes of at least half of the Mustang aficionados in the world.
If you think your auto trivia skills are ready for prime time, then take part in the Barrett-Jackson Fantasy Bid - opens in new window or tab., presented by eBay Motors and Dodge. The game plays out during the Barrett-Jackson auction from March 24 to 27. It’s a live event from Scottsdale, Ariz.
In addition to answering trivia questions, you’ll be asked to predict the final auction price for particular cars—like the 1999 Vector M-12 shown above. Before making a guess, keep in mind that it's number 12 of 14 total Vector M-12 production cars built from 1996-99.

Play to Win
Make your best guess for the final price of this Ferrari 275. The stunning sports car is powered by the original 3.3-liter V12 engine. The deal includes its original tool bag and brochure.
To play the game each day between 5 and 7 pm EST (2 and 4 pm PST), all you have to do is register at the Fantasy website - opens in new window or tab. and answer questions to accumulate points.
As mentioned above, you’ll be asked to predict how much a particular auction car will sell for as it’s on the block. You get 250 points for answering and 1,000 points for accurate answers plus or minus $2,500.
And get this: Speed counts. Answer quickly because, during the first 15 seconds, the points you can win diminish every millisecond until only 25 percent are left. The judges will be on the lookout for any automated entry devices or bots. Strictly prohibited.
Trivia questions also have the speed factor applied. Here's how the scoring works:
- There are 100 points for participation.
- 500 points for correct answers.
- Incorrect answers also score 200 points.
- There are also polling questions, and you get 250 points for answering those.
Keep Your Eyes on the Leaderboard
Barrett-Jackson will do a charity auction of the first retail production 2020 GMC HUMMER EV, Edition 1 VIN 001.
A link on the question screen goes to a leaderboard that shows who’s ahead in points. In the case of a tie for the lead, there will be an extra trivia runoff question, with 500 points for correct answers and a ticking clock. Individuals can win more than one prize.
There are also prizes for the most points accumulated during each hour of gameplay, awarded by the sponsors:
- A $1,000 eBay Motors gift certificate (terms and conditions apply).
- A one-day Bondurant performance driving certificate and one night at the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale.
The Grand Prize—there’s only one winner—is two tickets to a future auction, including three nights at the Fairmont Princess, and three days of the Bondurant High Performance Driving School in Chandler, Ariz. eBay Motors is providing a pair of round-trip flights. You’ll also get two passes with VIP access to the arena.
