Full-Throttle Down Memory Lane

The Z50 has a user-friendly design with a low seat, mellow power delivery, and a “one-down, two-up” three-speed semi-automatic transmission. This combination makes learning to ride (and pop wheelies) a blast.

For many enthusiasts over the past half-century, the Honda Z50 is the first bike that fostered a love for riding motorcycles.
Honda introduced the small off-roader in 1968. The company targeted younger riders with compact size, lightweight construction, and user-friendly features. The Z50 also appealed to adults seeking an easily transportable, fun motorcycle for trail riding, grocery trips, and backyard grudge races.

Today, the Honda Z50 Mini Trail continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many riders. Although Honda officially stopped making the Z50 in 1999, a contemporary variation of the bike, commonly called the Monkey Bike - opens in new window or tab., still exists.

These earlier models were known as “hard tails” because they lacked rear shocks, which were added in 1972, making this 1970 model even rarer. No expense was spared during the rebuild process, with the motorcycle refurbished using only OEM parts. The Honda Z50's motor is entirely rebuilt. The bike was meticulously recrafted to museum quality. Since then, it hasn’t touched dirt.
