To celebrate its 50th anniversary in 1968, Chevrolet announced a special Golden Anniversary package available on pickup trucks, panel vans, and Suburbans. Each one came with a distinctive gold and white paint scheme with a matching interior.
The Golden Anniversary Chevy C-10 Fleetside pickup recently listed on eBay is one of these rare models. The truck still wears its original gold paint—at least what's left of it.

A Hard-Working Truck Serves its Purpose
The 1968 Chevrolet C-10 shows signs of heavy use. But the truck wears its hard-earned patina well.
The finish may be worn, but the truck is complete and dent-free. Most of the rust is only on the surface. The six-foot bed is sufficiently scarred so that a new owner shouldn't be afraid to put it to work. At the same time, the truck is solid enough to get the job done. Rocker panels and other bits needing attention were replaced with new metal.
Beneath the patina, much of the truck was upgraded for daily use and livability—without taking away from the original look. For openers, a 454-cubic-inch V-8 lurks under the hood, something that would not have been available in 1968.

In fact, the owner rebuilt the 454. He reports that it starts right up and runs well, with plenty of punch when you hit the throttle. The paired three-speed automatic transmission uses the original column-mounted gear selector.
The powertrain emits a pleasant rumble in the video accompanying the listing. Best of all, the stock appearance gives no indication of the power under the hood, making this C-10 a perfect sleeper.
Stock on the Outside Only
The cabin is now graced with Golden Anniversary correct gold and white upholstery and matching gold carpet. It's dressed up with a modern wood steering wheel. The original full factory instrumentation remains. And the rest of the interior retains a complete and original look right down to the seat belts.

A slightly lowered suspension gives the truck an aggressive stance, enhanced by 20-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels - opens in new window or tab. and new tires. A front disc brake conversion - opens in new window or tab. provides an upgrade to the original stopping power.
This classic Chevy truck retains a stock appearance, but it was upgraded with modern mechanicals, suspension, brakes, and tires. That's its charm. You'd never know about its modern capabilities based on the truck's complete and original exterior and interior—right down to still having all the factory trim, lenses, glass, and badging in place.
This rare Golden Anniversary C-10 was ready to drive and enjoy. However, the seller admitted that it wasn't perfect.

That's not a problem because eBay has ready availability of replacement and reproduction C-10 parts. The new owner could make this a stunning show truck. Or keep at as an authentic classic work truck—equally good doing weekend chores or proudly displayed wherever it's parked.
