In the depths of winter, when some people are leading lives of quiet desperation, part of the human condition is the desire to break out of the cold, to seize each day as if it were our last, and to cherish spring and summertime for what they can represent to each of us, the glory of our own existence. That is how we perceive summer and springtime living in colder winter climates. Which is why when warmer weather rolls around there is a spring in our steps, and a desire to break out the convertibles.
How exactly would we choose to seize the dog days of summer in our own way? How would we break from the norms of society and in what ways would we do so? There is a seemingly endless supply of vehicles that come to mind for enjoying warmer weather cruising. For us we’d buy an old drop-top and cruise to the coast, allowing us to catch some rays in our big black sunglasses, enjoying the hot weather, and bathing in the warmth of summer.
When we saw this particular customized 1962 Pacific Blue Volkswagen Beetle convertible, it just screams to be taken to some sunny city beaches to soak up the sun and surf of the Pacific Ocean itself. While an original version of this 1962 Volkswagen Type I Beetle Convertible is somewhat desirable on its own, we liked the mixture of originality and customization touches that were applied to this particular vehicle to slightly update it for more modern traffic.

If we had to pick a near perfect representation of summertime fun cars, an early air-cooled VW Bug convertible would be near the tops of our list because its just so darned cute; its all about having fun, and not in a “girly,” or “retro” way like the latest Beetles try to achieve. Cute can be macho when you have the boldness to back it up, and this bug definitely does just that with an updated power plant. Any right minded car aficionado would choose this Bug over many others simply because of how well it is presented, and what it represents, the ability to break out from the norm, and live your life the way you want to. Because that is part of the human condition, and for those of us who chase cars in the process this car would be one to chase for those sunny summer days without a care in the world and the spirit of summer days in your heart, and blue skies above.
