The iRiver H-10 20GB Player – Remix Blue is a great alternative to the Apple iPod 20GB player. This player is approximately the same size as an Apple iPod, though it is loaded on features that the iPod makes you pay extra for. As of this review date, this is a great MP3 player to pick up if you are interested in getting a lot of storage space for a great price. To add more frosting to this deal, it is feature loaded. This player comes with an FM Tuner that can be used to record songs right onto the device, a microphone for recording, photo capability, and amazing plug-n-play ease for easy transfer. This player also goes for the long hall, lasting 16 hours worth of play. We were able to get 17.5 hours out of our particular device. The most amazing thing about this player is the sound quality. The various equalizers and personal equalizer settings you can establish with this player amaze me. With the nicely included headphones, the sound blows the iPod out of the water. Hooking this player to an FM Transmitter, you notice a significant difference in sound when played over your car speakers. I cannot speak highly enough of this sound! Two major downfalls that I can think of are the lack of accessories for this device and the very touchy vertical scroll wheel. The scroll wheel, even after firmware updates, can be a pain to control when you are scrolling through 20GB of music. The lack of accessories for this player has available can also be a downer. If you are looking for iRiver specific products, or even off brand, it is going to cost you because of the lack of competitors fighting for your money, thus increasing the price. Luckily, the person I bought this for does not need all the extras, just a great sounding device. Overall, if you want a device that has a lot of features and playing capability at a portion of the cost of an iPod on eBay, then you need to pick up the iRiver H10 20GB player.Read full review
The iRiver H10 20 GB is alright. Here is the story: I dont have enough money to dish out a iPod 4th gen or anything so I bought this iPod for 180 bucks thinking "atleast it plays music". I compared it to my sister's iPod and I am sure no one would be able to notice a difference in sound or anything after the first day of use. After careful examination of both devices, I have found that the iRiver has little nuisances, that seem very trivial, but they build up the longer you have it. For example, unless you have big earphones, not the little things you have in your ears, the iRiver has this little fuzzy noise. If you have the big headset that covers your whole ear, there is no fuzz, but if you have the tiny little earphones, there is thing little fuzzy noise. 2, My sister and I have around 3000 songs on our devices. It takes the iPod around a couple seconds to start up. It takes the iRiver about 2 minutes to start up. 3. Scrolling through songs on the iPod is much easier. 4. The iPod is a ton smaller 5. the scroll thingy on the iRiver gets sketchy sometimes. Now, to the iRiver's advantages. 1. Built in FM radio. <-- Pretty good quality, if you are in at open area. 2. Built in recording. <-- sound quality is really bad, but if you plug in a sepeate microphone, prefabably one with its own power source, the sound quality is mediocre. 3. Takes only about 15 minutes to charge, where the ipod takes like 3 hours. In conclusion, if you have lots of money, by the iPod. If you are always short on cash like me, the iRiver does just fine in playing your songs.Read full review
Well here we go another I Pod wanna be ,first lets clarify a few things 1: Its got a ton of features some that I first ruled out but then found quite handy ie:the voice recorder. 2:A tad hefty but for those of us who have not become trendy or flashy you would want something to remind you that it is in a pocket or shirt. 3:Ok I am old school frugal to some learned to others some features I just dont want or need viewing by album art wont find it on the I River H10( why are you going to sit there and mentally know who sang what on what album??). Album art gone (yes its cute and funky but it kills your battery!!! not on the Iriver thank fully. Oh let me say one thing I pod addicts your battery sucks!!! I have a used I River (not new) and I clocked it at just over 16hours continuous use my good friend has a 4 gen Ipod his conked out at 10hrs with a full charge, why do you say is this important (are you crazy!!!) 1:With all features goin a strong battery is good 2:For those of us who like me are old and forget to charge every now and then lil terror(Iriver H10)holds a decent standby and awesome live charge. 3:Most important of all ROAD TRIP!!!!!! charge when you get there Now you ask what else well all those I phone hip and handy accessories out the window ( not so fast ) there are a few and Ebay has them cases(need it , screen protector(want it),car charger ( not necessary).Ok so now you ask am I crazy why give up all the good, massive parts and add on's, ability to customize why??????? Why cause on Cnet.com it has an awsome rating smooth style simple interface and out of the box ease (the thumb slide is weird ) plus a copious amount of eq options that will make your head spin, also you can play music in any combo or fashion Artist name, Album ,Playlist quick list( a feature thats so cool) alright quick list the ability to customize a list in a second or two on the fly the best of your best on one single list. Wet your appetite? wait theres more an alarm (yes there are those of us who need one handy) more ways to play music (yes more) did I forget the ability of the radio and recording from it ( Bmore Club here I come ) or any line in function????Also line out functions radio ect.....All this for a lot lees than the I Pod now I know I know whats wrong ok here it is 1: Its windows based not Mac 2:It operates with Media player only (pro and con) 3: The charger and the sync cable are on the same dongle 4:Not as many trendy accessories With that said I have done well what I got was what you read a simple (understatement) mp3 player with a whole lot of kick for a lot less than Ipod,it does the job and then some and then a little more I am thrilled at the lil terror it holds all my music currently well over 5k( I will never listen to that ) it records an plays radio ( excelent for the job) it holds pdf and can be used as mass storage device. The pic function I can pass on but it may appeal to you. Well ther you have it for me its great more than I expected .Read full review
Grate MP3 player! It's big enough to hold without fear of it breaking (I hate dainty little electronics). Lots of storage (20 GB internal storage), great sound with almost any headphones/speakers (hook up to your car/home stereo with adapters, sold separately - such as: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Cassette-Tape-Adapter-Player/dp/B00070FIAK - other options exist, check into them via Google search, etc.) radio tuning, voice and radio program recording. I love this recording feature, it's the main reason I bought the player to be honest.. I love some late night/early morning radio programs and can't stay up for them (due to work schedule), nor wish to pay a monthly/yearly/etc. fee to listen later online to them. So.. now I can set a timer and record the program! Hook-up to your PC (via USB) is a snap, file swapping to and from PC is great! Photos/videos can be viewed on players LCD screen, also text files can be viewed. Lots of lovely little features you would expect with most MP3 players and then some! Cons: Battery is fixed rechargeable, if it ever goes dead, you must buy a replacement and install via screw removal, and slight dismantlement of unit. There is no removable storage space such as a SD slot, etc.Read full review
I have had my iRiver H10 (20 GB) MP3 Player for just over a year now and I am still impressed on how well this unit sounds and performs. I do enjoy the ease of making playlists and the connection speed to the computer, including the "Sync" function to Windows media player. Almost weekly I'm adding new songs to the MP3 player. When I first started looking at MP3 players, the H10 provided me with all the features that I was looking for: large storage, good sound quality, built in radio tuner, ease of connecting, size, etc. The H10 has met all my requirements and more. It also is very durable, especially with the gel cover. I use my H10 nearly every day for both business and pleasure. I would recommend this unit to those looking for a great MP3 player.
