Solid camera.
I don't know how this camera is only $35. The casing for the camera itself as well as the mount are metal. Video can be switched to either standard definition or high definition in the picture is truly remarkable. Set up literally took me about two or three minutes to have this up and running (I had downloaded the app and created my account prior). You must be within 10 to 15 feet of your router in order for set up to work properly. Do not install the camera outside and then try and set it up. The night vision capabilities are exceptional and I have mine covering about a 60 or so linear foot distance with no problems. The motion detection can be sketchy at times, being overly sensitive to things like rain, snow, leaves and even headlights of all things. The app has recently been updated and has a lot of new features such as cropping where within the camera's view it will actually give you motion detection triggers. I have only been running this new version for a day or two and can't fully speak to its reliability. The only reason I am giving this four stars is the lack of an external reset button. I had initially subscribed to the cloud service and the only way to unsubscribe from that was to delete the camera from my account. Well, it deleted the camera from the app but it did not tell the camera to reset. I had to online chat with the company and received extensive instructions on how to do that through the computer with software they provided. It was eventually reset but I do caution that the process was not a simple one. I am ordering more to cover other areas of my home.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cloud and zmoto app only
I did not expect for the network camera not to have web interface, or a way for me to use any of the video recording software and apps to connect and get a video stream. Camera works with the zmoto phone app and via user zmoto website, but I don't want to store anything in the cloud! I just wanted to have my sinology surveillance to connect and record, keeping recordings on my hdds. If you OK with the fact that you can use only zmoto app, then go for it, it work. Camera has great picture and remote view platform is good & easy to use. Only negative is power supply cord is too short 6’ & permanently sealed to transformer. If ac power is not handy you will need a micro usb extension & a usb plug-in transformer. There for 4 stars. I’m using them outside so we’ll see in time how they hold up. I purchased 3 zmodo cameras and couldn't be more please the outdoor camera is excellent and the zmodo mini indoor with 2 way audio is awesome easy to communicate with family and checking in on things. I also made an outdoor housing so I could use the indoor camera with 2 way audio right by my front door and speak to people who ring my door bell (my inexpensive version of a RING DOORBELL ) and it works like a charm total investment for the outdoor housing under 5 bucks . great little outdoor camera
Zmodo cameras are so easy to set up (I am no techy wiz). The picture during the day could not be brighter or clearer! However, at night the resolution drops off dramatically. I have tried adjusting things but it still isn't as good as the resolution at night of their indoor cameras. Not Bad for the Price
I purchased three of these cameras before really investing time to understand how they work. For the very basic surveillance, they are great especially for the price, I was disappointed to learn that they will only work with the Zmodo App and the Website, the cloud recording is still under development. The motion sensing is a little weak and there seems to be a lag in between alerts. Meaning, if an alert accured at 11:00, it does not seem the pick up a second motion at 11:05 etc. So there is a potential dead zone. Great camera, great price. I just want to warn, though, that the one I bought was already subscribed to another Zmodo customer. It took me a couple of hours to realize why the blue light showed "connected" but it wasn't getting added to my account. I was basically broadcasting my feed to someone else's account, which could be a privacy issue. So if you buy one used "Like New", be aware that it might be locked to another account and you'll have to provide Zmodo your proof of purchase as well as the camera ID number. Started good, after month now junk!
This camera started out better then expected, and now after using for just over a month, this camera has turned to crap!!! The app that you use is worse then crap! Notifications..gone! Night vision..gone! Can't store anything because it holds every video clip of nothing! Drag on the camera is bag! Disconnects from internet constantly!
