I bought mine from a certified ZT dealer after it had been returned by a dissatisfied customer. The first customer (and many other owners that I have read comments from) was dissatisfied with the difficulty in opening the knife. Since I have a lot of ZT's, I thought it couldn't be that bad so I purchased it. While waiting for it to arrive, I saw that there is a special tension adjustment tool that can be purchased for an extra $20 - $30. Reviews on the tool were worse than reviews on the knife. After it arrived, my finger was in pain after about 4 flips. I read about one owner that felt he had to loosen the screws holding the knife together to get it to work. NOT a good idea. I called the factory and discussed the difficulty and the adjustment tool. During the conversation I realized that, being a smaller framed knife, I was probably putting pressure on the frame lock bar when trying to open it so I was working against myself. When you keep your fingers off of the frame lock bar it opens like any other ZT. A little stiff at first, but breaks in fairly quickly. After studying my grip on the knife when opening, I learned how to open it easily on a consistent basis. When it comes to a small framed flipper, it is hard to beat the 0450. This 0609 may not be your go-to fast deploying small knife like the 0450, but it is a great knife. I just am not too excited about having to have to think about how I am holding a knife before I open it. That being said, I have been carrying it regularly just to get used to it and it has helped.Read full review
