I bought this set for back pain but didn't research it enough to see if it would be helpful to me. I have degenerative arthritis in my back but also in my knees. Almost all the poses were performed on the knees. I didn't really understand her instructions at times, such as "soften your heart," and there were not definitions for those. The instructions for a modified "easier" pose were not relevant for me. I can't compare this to other programs, as I didn't even come close to being able to finish this one.
I like the fact that you get two yoga workouts; the first disc focuses on neck and shoulders and the other is a longer, more in-depth DVD focusing on relieving back pain. On this last disc, Desiree Rumbaugh talks about how posture or body misalignment can lead to muscle imbalances; which in turn, cause strain in the lower back. The poses in these DVDs are supposed to help you with that. She provides excellent cuing for each posture. Glad I have this in my collection.
