I did a ton of research on digital pianos prior to my purchase. Some had way too many bells and whistles for me, while others didn’t have enough. The Yamaha P-125 is the perfect middle ground. It’s a snap to set up, and navigating through all the features is also really easy though the Smart Pianist app (cords to connect an iPad sold separately). This app is a total game changer! The sound is incredible and the weighted keys make it feel like you’re playing a real piano. The bundle — which included a stand, seat and a set of lightweight headphones — was such a great deal too! I’ve not played this much in a very long time. I’m having so much fun!!

The Yamaha P-125 88-key digital piano is a solid performer in a reasonably sized package. It's much lighter than my old P-200 (which I loved), much more tote-able. That's the primary reason I got it. I had a P-200 for many years because it has a great keyboard feel, great sounds, and strong built-in speakers. But its heavy and got too hard for me to pick up out its case by myself anymore. The P-125 does almost everything that the P-200 does almost as well, and I can lift it. The keyboard has a lighter feel (I wish it had more resistance to feel more like a real piano). The sounds do sound good but don't sustain quite as long (subtle, but noticeable to me). The speaker system is good for rehearsals but does not fill a room quite the same way (I can bring along a powered speaker when needed). A basic X-stand can handle it (rather than a massive and heavy T-stand). It does not have a pitch wheel or a mod wheel, but as a pianist I barely ever used them on my old P-200. I consider the P-125 a solid performer when an actual piano is not available, and at a decent price.Read full review

As described. I am satisfied with my purchase. The Yamaha P125 Black is a great digital paino for the $ with Yamaha grand piano sounds, MIDI interface and only weighs 26lbs. It has many other different sounds and can ne used as a MIDI controller. Yamaha graded weighted piano key action is one of the best in the industry. Yamaha only tops it with their CP4 with real wooden keys in a portable keyboard that weighs in around 46lbs and is tougher to lug aroung easily. Now I have both!

Excellent sound. My son and I eschew electronic pianos because they never sound like the real thing. This one is extremely close. The keys are weighted in a way that feels like a piano. The built-in speakers sound really good, and are a nice plus for everyday use when not in a gig or for practice. No amp needed. The rhythmic features with a walking bass added on make for an unbelievably good small ensemble sound and there is a good selection of rhythms to choose from. Rated a 4 because the patches are only accessible in groups, by pushing a given button (e.g., Piano) repeatedly to get the different patches. So if you want to couple two patches they have to be in different groups. Choral and Strings are in the same group, so you can't have choral and string voices playing at the same time. For this, the CP-33 is much easier to use. (They both have nearly all the same features, as far as patches/voices.) But if 26 lb is more your speed than 39 lb (CP-33), and you don't need a bend wheel (not on P-125), and you can deal with the more "hidden" features of the P125, it is an easier instrument to live with and it sounds great.Read full review

This has been one of my favorite beginner setups. The sound is absolutely superb for a piano in this price range. The multifunctional selection is easy to use, the earphones are great, the stand is sturdy as well as the seat.
