As of yet have I figured out all of the features of this system. A little more complicated than I would like but I am sure I will figure it out when I have the time. Once it is set up, it gets a lot easier. A really groovy feature would be the automatic setup of the speakers. Using a microphone(included) and camera stand, it will automatically set the distance, identify what kind of speakers you are using and adjusts the volume for each speaker making it sound fantastic. Not only does it have a 5.1 ratio, but there are two more connections for another set of speakers which I will be routing out to my back porch. Had a set of JVC's for speakers (110 watts per)...but I blew all, including power sub, but 1. This does not say anything bad about this system...only that it packs plenty of power and that the JVC's suck. Bought a 400 watt Audio Acoustics sub woof and using old RCA's until I get better. Long story short, very powerful receiver, couldn't be happier. Price was fantastic...retail $349.00 USD...paid $144.00 USD with free shipping.Read full review
OK, first I love this receiver, and the price was great... sounds good, plenty of power, use it with sirius, and ipod just fine... But one of the features does not work for me... the OSD for the room analyzer... So I open a ticket with Yamaha... I wait over a week to get a response asking me a question that I had already answered in the initial support request, so I write back with the information again... and again it has been over a week and even longer than the first wait and no response back at all. Based on that, I would not suggest buying ANY Yamaha product, because if it is defective you are just plain SOL!!! THEY PROVIDE NO SUPPORT, EVEN THOUGH THEY CLAIM TO PROVIDE SUPPORT!!!! unfortunately I could not find a phone number for support yet, so I am stuck with it... good product, plus non-existant support equals a below avg rating from me....Read full review
Plenty of power at 105w/chnl. The various audio settings can recreate nearly any audio accurately, whether music, TV, sports or cinema. The setup is fairly intuitive once you figure out the instruction from the manual. The night setting is also a nice feature, you get the full audio range at low volume, as long as there isn't much background noise to override it.
2 hdmi inputs, auto set-up, lots of power and features. I teamed this up with JBL scs145.5 home theater speakers and it sounds great! There are four shortcut keys for different modes/inputs that are programmable. Front a/v jacks for video games or whatever you want to hook up. Set up was easy and performance is definately up to par. If you are looking for an entry-level receiver that doesn't skimp on the important stuff, this is for you!
This receiver is a great choice for a home theater system. Plenty of jacks for multiple speakers. A user friendly receiver that can be preset so children can easily select an input for movies or gaming needs. Many preset features for sound selection. A very nice product.
