I bought a Ken Onion Work Sharp a couple years ago. I have always wanted a nice sharpener with a precision guide that will give a professional edge. When I received the Work Sharp I sharpened all my knives within 15 minutes like razors. I started buying knives at thrift shops that were worth having if their rounded edges could be resharpened. If a large knife is rounded it can take a lot of work to reestablish the correct edge. It really needs to be 'ground' back into shape at that point. Then you need to hone away with finer grit stones, keeping a precise angle throughout the process of sharpening. This is very time consuming and takes tremendous skill and practice. If you can not keep the blade perfectly angled on the stone consistently you will never get maximum sharpness, and few people can. The Work Sharp is compact and powerful and fast. Once my knives were sharp, I simply used a leather strop to maintain the edge. A friend of mine who does leather work asked me to sharpen his giant scissors last week, and the Work sharp restored them to perfection in a breeze. Work Sharp makes two models and the Ken Onion model is fully adjustable with with variable speeds. It also has wider belts which are better and last longer. I am thoroughly satisfied and believe, for the money, you can't go wrong.Read full review

This product worked great! I had a ceramic knife with some small chips in the blade. I used the coarse belt and made several passes until the chips began to smooth out and eventually they went away. It was sharp then, but I used the fine belt and made a few passes and now it's super sharp and better than when I first bought it!

Very easy to use and took no time at all to take nicks and chip out of the blade. Recommended lot better than taking it somewhere to do same thing. Two thumbs up!

Worked great on ceramic knives. Color of belts are hard to distinguish which belt is which, It would be nice if they could mark grit of belt on inside.
