I used this book while I was pregnant and referred to the nutrition parts very often. It tells you what you should be eating like whole grains and fruits & vegetable and dairy products. It also explains why you should be eating these foods and has a section on recipes that you can prepare. I did not use the recipes in this book but only referred to it as a nutriional guide and got a different book with many good recipes in it for when I was pregnant and I still use them today. Once you start to use the book you will find that it is very easy to get the recommended daily fruits/veg, grains, dairy, and protein.
Great Book! Clearly outlines all of the need to knows about pregnancy. This is my first child with my fiance and we are learning so much. Its simple and very understandable. It is even clearer than Th OBGYN who uses terms I don't know and understand. This books gives you good questions to ask as well. I have even orderd the What to Eat while expecting book.
Great Book!

I dont' think it's a bad book...but if you are not used to the type of foods in teh book the best-odds diet is not for you it seems bland and tasteless. I think women have been having babies since the begining of time and they survived fine with healthy babies eating different ways but with the food you want to eat. The nutritional portion of the book is very helpful in letting you know what your body needs but the recipe portion is only for certain types of people.
Good for explaining what to eat, how to handle parties and other situations where you may not be able to eat certain foods, and provides great recipes. Also good for explaining what helps with preggie ailments.
