Well, it's a text book. I don't think it matters if i like or dislike it LOL It's laid out pretty well - and there is an interactive website that you can take quizzes at to test our progress. I wish they had put the definitions on the side like in most other text books. almost 1/3 of the book is glossary, appendix, and other extra material. Huge book , hard to carry around and work with. But it is what it is - filled with content, and with the exception of some highly tedious explanations, pretty good for the most part.
Comprehensive, concise, and comprehensible, this classic textbook from West publishing is a must-have for the business law student. It is approachable enough for anyone else who wants complex legal issues dissected and explained in a manageable way, and includes plenty of hypothetical examples and real-life cases. I used an earlier edition of this book in the '80s and the newer editions have only improved over time. I was concerned that this 9th edition might not have enough information on e-contracts, cyber crime, and other legal issues that were not yet conceived of in my older edition, but this one is very up-to-date, especially considering it is not the most recent edition published. Any edition of this book can be counted on to be well-written and informative. I highly recommend West's Business Law Text and Cases.Read full review
I expected this book to be like every other law book I've ever read... dry, boring, hard to understand, and full of legal jargon that only a law student knows. However, I am now about half way through the book and I'm not hating it! (That means a lot coming from a college student!) This book uses real life cases that really help you apply what you are reading to the real world. It's not just a bunch of 'what-ifs'. It's written in clear and easy-to-understand language, but it doesn't dumb down either. This book has really made my Business Law course much more enjoyable and I even sometimes look forward to study time!
This book is short and too the point. Case studies make sense and If you are lucky enough to recieve the extra pamphlet that comes new with the book, it is helpful to use for research. Even If you are not a student, maybe a business owner who wants to study up on contract law, UCC, etc. it would be a great choice for quick referance and learning.
The book new was $140. I got it for 25$ Brand new old edition. The 9ed book is vertualy the same thing as the 10th. Now I've still yet to open the book. So really 25$ was a bad investment since I don't see me using the thing anytime soon. I just didn't need the book. O well. Live and learn.
