I’ve always been interested in the Royals. I didn’t know much about Wallis or the Duke of Windsor until I read this book. I knew more of Diana maybe because of my own age. I was born in 1972 after the Duke had passed away. I need to remember the drama surrounding her death. Sudden and unnecessary. I read the book from beginning to end a few chapters every night until I was finished. I like the way the author captured all of the characters and was very true to their demeanor and behaviors. I liked the fact that he offered some times different perspectives, Whenever there was a conflict of information. Whether it be from Wallis or someone who knew her or David, the Duke. Just the fact that this woman could change many a man to cause the course of history to be altered was very interesting. What did she have that intrigued them so? Wit, charm, beauty, intelligence, persistence or just luck? The abdication of the Duke is very well known. This book gives you insight as to the life that they lead after the fact. Whether or not they were truly happy together not being king and queen or Duke and Duchess or His and Her Royal Highness, is only known between the two of them even though this book was written. I think others will enjoy the book thoroughly and have purchased additional books about Wallis Simpson or Wallis Windsor to continue learning about a historic event that changed many lives, especially the Royals.Read full review
