Great Trimmer, But Replacement Battery Cost Too High
It's a great trimmer, powerful and effective, well-balanced when the handle is positioned in the right place, and long enough for tall people so that they don't have to bend over at the waist to use it. Line feed works great, unlike some products in this price range. The reason I sent it back though, is that the cost of a replacement battery was around $150, which is one-and-a-half times what I paid for the whole outfit, trimmer, charger, and battery. That makes no sense at all. Since the battery is usually the first thing to fail on these trimmers, I considered that a very important factor. I was able to find another trimmer (not the same brand) for the same price that was brushless, had a bump head, and the cost of a replacement battery was in the $30 range. The trimmer performed actually better because the bump head was dual-string, the brushless motor provided more power and promised more longevity, and with less expensive replacement batteries, it simply made a lot more sense. I hated returning this product because it worked so well and was so comfortable for me to use, but I had to go with the lower cost-of-ownership. I'm not into this planned obsolescense stuff, or this throw-away society mentality. When I invest in a product, I want to be able to keep it going for the long term without having to buy a new one.
